How do I enable free VPN on Opera GX?

Does Opera GX provide VPN?

I know that opera offers a VPN function and I'm wondering if there is a way to configure Opera GX to provide me with a secure connection. I have an openvpn connection at home and would like to use it for my office when I work away from home. So if I connect through the openvpn tunnel, how can I configure Opera GX to use it as well? Thanks for any help. Regards. Raphael. Last edited by Raphael; 12-08-2010 at 08:59 AM. Reason: Spelling error. Re: Opera GX provides VPN? Hi Raphael. Sorry, I've just discovered that I was looking at the wrong thread, I'll try to find the correct one (which is probably this one). I understand your need and I'm sure that many users will appreciate Opera's VPN function. However, I believe that many are already aware of it and not very many users need Opera's VPN function. If you want to make sure that it's a valid request, I suggest that you post on the Opera Community forum and let people know about your needs. It will be more effective than just asking in this thread.

I found some info here that Opera might use it's own VPN, but I don't know how to use it. If anyone could give me a few tips it would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance. The free version of the Opera browser offers one of the fastest VPN connections and the best free VPN services available in the market today. In case you don't know, a VPN (Virtual Private Network) offers you the ability to browse the internet anonymously, hide your identity, and unblock websites you may be restricted to. In other words, when using free VPN on Opera GX, you can visit any website without worrying about anyone who may be watching what you're doing, and access to blocked websites without incurring any cost whatsoever. In the past, it was pretty difficult to find a good VPN service that offers a free version. You could only get a really limited free VPN access, which meant you could only access to a single server. There were simply too many fake websites out there pretending to offer unlimited access to the internet, and in reality, you were paying for a sub-par VPN service, as well.

Luckily, these days, a lot of VPN providers are offering a free version of their services. While this does not mean that all providers offer an official free version, most do. With the free versions of the VPN service, you get unlimited access to hundreds of servers around the globe.
