How to setup IKEv2 iOS?
Ikev2 is the encryption technique behind IPSec. But how does the mobile app on your device know when a certain IP is talking to another IP? This is exactly the point where an attacker gets into trouble. In a normal scenario, this is not possible if you don't have the password of the remote IP in your hand. But in some cases you might, because you're doing it from your mobile phone using a VPN.
IKEv2 iOS is a very easy setup but it must be performed manually. You can only connect to the server of your choice but there is no control of the connection. After your first attempt you have to disconnect and re-configure all settings again because the server is still sending data to your IP address even though you're already connected.
For an attacker, it's very likely that he's gonna guess your server or a DNS of that VPN provider. Therefore, you need to configure a more sophisticated IPSec setup. For this, you need to change the settings of your iOS device. This tutorial will help you with that.
When you're already done with IKEv2, you can continue with VPN setup on your iOS device. Let's get into details. Setting up your device. Before starting, make sure to download the latest version of the VPN application from the App Store on your device. If you have a jailbroken device, you could also install the VPN application using the Cydia appstore. If you want to create a jailbreak with the latest version of Apple TV 4.4 on any device, make sure that you have installed iOS 10 beta 4 from Xcode.
On your iOS device (iPhone / iPad), it will be enough to open Settings > General > Network > VPN. Turn on the VPN option and enter your username and password. Also make sure to set a random passphrase or disable passphrase option. After that, tap on the icon again to save the setting. On your Android, you can set it in any way you want. But most of the times, VPN applications use the default setup and you can skip this part.
IOS configuration. If you are connecting to a specific IP, you should only change the IKE server URL and your public IP address.
