How do I turn off parental controls without password?
Hey there, I have seen a few videos for turning off parental controls from my Android, but they usually require a password, are any of you able to figure out a way to disable it through the settings without having to know what the password is?
Or am I just asking for my android to be hacked if I do this? Any information would be much appreciated, thanks in advance! The only thing I can think of is maybe try downloading a rooting app for the tablet (if you have) and installing the root app on the device. This will require the password, of course.
But I do not think the user has permission to remove anything on the tablet so he cannot turn off parental controls without a password. And even if he does gain permission then it seems there would be NO way to get into the settings menu to do so since the password is on a different partition than the user.
The only thing I can think of is maybe try downloading a rooting app for the tablet (if you have) and installing the root app on the device. I believe most rooted apps require a superuser for root access, and i'm unsure how they function if installed on a tablet, so I suppose your only option if you rooted is to install the app and hope that something works. Which might mean a reboot before.
Hey there, I thought I would see if any new things have appeared since we last discussed this topic over on the forums. I am looking for a way to change the device to factory settings without knowing the exact password or without root access. Is this possible?
What to do if I forgot my parental control password on Android?
My family members use my phone.
If they do anything that requires an application (and there are a lot of those on Google Play) they always get my permission. After all, they just did "OK Google" and then chose the app from the Google Play's list. But they always forget my permission (or I forget to tell them about it) at some point, because they can't remember what they needed. There's not much I can do about it either, as there is no other way to tell if they used their phone in the previous 15 minutes. The only thing I can tell them is to try with those 15 minutes of their life back, but they won't. The problem is, this happened a couple of times already and nobody remembered anything of what they did.
The only possible solution that I've found was to completely reset the device and hope that they won't do anything stupid, because that's what we have been doing lately, hoping that they won't ever do anything stupid again. So if I wanted to prevent such incidents for the future, would it be enough to reset the device when it needs a new parental control password, just so I can be sure that I told them something or that they won't be able to use their account anymore? Would that completely eliminate the risk of them screwing up and getting into trouble, or do you think there's still a risk that they'll screw up even without my supervision? Re: ? I don't understand why your users do any of this stuff on their own. Your parents, and kids are adults. They should know better than to ignore your instructions and go searching for the apps you told them not to. They should know better than to mess with personal things.
It shouldn't come down to needing to "tell your users/parents exactly what they need to do". The user should only need to follow instructions and they should be told these instructions when purchasing the device.
Just because they are adults, or better trained than your children, doesn't make them idiots. They are children of the same age as your children. This should never happen. That's my two cents.
How do I unlock parental controls on Android tablet?
I just recently bought an Acer Aspire AS15 tablet, and I had it set to block certain websites before.
So I just updated the kids, and now they're able to play games on Angry Birds, YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, and others.
I then tried to setup parental controls to block other websites as well, but I was never given the option of doing so. Also, there are two different lock screens when pressing the power button. The normal one that you see at the top of the screen, and the other you see when you wake your phone up from being turned off (the slide lock screen). Is it possible to have these two separate for every app or do I have to enable parental controls for all of them at once?

When you set parental controls, those settings will apply to all apps on your device. You don't have to make separate settings for each app, but there is no way to get a screen with settings specific to a single app.
You can use the slide lock screen, since that is designed for locking the device. On Android 4.2, the slide lock screen offers the same type of feature. Simply pressing down while in the slide lock screen brings up the Quick Settings. In this menu you can lock your device, switch the WiFi connection, toggle the airplane mode, turn on flashlight, etc.
How do I force quit parental controls?
When I installed this app it installed some additional apps along with it.
My question is once you install parental controls can you force quit these apps from the phone? And if so how do you do that? I installed it through the app store as a sideloaded app but haven't been able to find out how to quit the unwanted parental control apps. Or am I going about this wrong all together?
Thank you. Yes you can force close or reboot those app. But if there is more than one instance of those App you will end up in a black loop where you are not able to perform any action on phone.
Here is the command you can use to reboot/force quit Parental Control App. Adb shell pm reboot com.apple.
