Is Graston and Iastm the same?

I have 2 grasters. One is a regular hand graster, and the other is a electric. I know that they are basically the same thing, but just want to make sure. I have a friend who has a regular graster and when she uses the electric, her skins are always "rougher" and a bit darker than mine. Does anyone have any insight into the difference between the 2?

I've had both and while I don't think there's anything wrong with either one, I did notice that the electric is more convenient in some situations (ie at the store). The electric does not work as well on a flat surface such as a table top. Also, I prefer the feel of the electric and think it's a bit easier to use.

If you're going to use your graster for commercial purposes, you might consider the fact that an IASTM graster will probably be more expensive. It will probably weigh more, too.

I'm not really looking for a graster right now. I have one and I use it all the time. I used it yesterday. I think that I am getting to know it well enough to answer your question.

The most obvious difference between a regular hand graster and an electric graster is that the electric graster has a motor that spins and is powered by electricity. I think that this also gives the graster a "smoother" feel.
