How do I see app activity on Android?

How to check Android usage history?

Check your Android phone's background activity history and identify the applications that were using the data and how much of that data was consumed.

There are many apps available which will help you in monitoring and tracking the background activity like battery consumption, CPU usage, Wi-Fi traffic, mobile traffic etc. But apart from such apps what you can do is just to search the history of a particular app as mentioned below.

Here is the simple solution which you can use for viewing android device background activity report. Just follow the steps mentioned below: Firstly, head over to the Settings> About phone and tap the 'About phone' section on the top. Scroll down a bit and you should see a section called 'System info.' Tap that to open the same screen again.

Tap 'Usage statistics' icon situated at the bottom right corner of that screen. It will lead you to a new page. Here is a screenshot of that section:

Now, here you can see that it shows the background information of your Android. This includes all the apps which were using the data, how much has been used by each app and total data used by each application in total along with their average and maximum value in terms of the used data value.

As you can see that we didn't need any paid app to view the background activity of Android. You can use this technique to find out how much of each application has used data of a particular android phone or tablet. We hope that you found this tutorial useful and you can view the usage of different apps without any third-party app.

How to check app data usage on Android?

Is there any method on android mobile? I have android device. And I have no idea how much data it will use when I install apps on the phone.

If some one tells me how much data is consumed by some app, then how I can get that information. I do not want to use root explorer app because it's not safe.

The only way to detect the amount of data used by an app is with a rooted device. There are many apps available which let you trace the data usage, for example: (the one recommended by CyanogenMod). App Usage Tracker. Traceroute. And another app which works on rooted devices: Data usage info by Rooting apps. Also, you can try and use another mobile browser like Firefox or Chrome, but this is not safe, especially if you use them for browsing public pages/sites. UPDATE. A possible way to try and find out how much data a particular app uses would be: Search the Play Store for the app. You may have to scroll a long way down for it to appear.

Once it has been found click on the link provided by the app, and it will bring up some sort of information on how much data the app takes. Unfortunately, it is not very accurate as it only provides an average figure.
