The website shows that PureTech Internet Ltd. Is owned by a company named PureFTP, which is based in mainland China. It is a privately held company that was established in 2024.

To further clarify the situation we contacted PureVPN who told us that It's not us, it's the company that owns us. When asked if they are a subsidiary of PureFTP were told that It is a separate company that is owned by PureFTP and it is a separate business, yes.

So we still have not found a definitive answer to this question, however it is more likely than not that PureVPN is owned by a Chinese company.
