After a month using ZenMate extension for Chrome, I can tell you that it's a very nice extension and very useful.

ZenMate allows you to run two Google Chrome instances at the same time, and the browser will automatically switch between them, depending on which tab you click on. If you have several tabs open, you can simply click on a different tab in the ZenMate Chrome instances and you'll immediately have a new tab running. It works great and it does all of the above with minimal fuss, unlike many other browser extensions. So ? I don't think that the extension is actually free, as it contains ads and offers the ability to upgrade to the Pro version. But there is no cost to download ZenMate. You simply download and install the extension and it works out of the box.

How do I add ZenMate extensions to Chrome?

There are many ways to install extensions for Chrome. With the simplest of them you can just click the Install button and let Chrome do its thing.

Another way is to use the Chrome Web Store. Just go to your chrome://extensions page in Chrome and install an extension from the store.

If you use the Android version of Chrome, you also have an installation option there. And of course, there's always the browser URL field, which allows you to install directly from an HTML page.

And if you're familiar with Linux/Mac, you may know that Linux has Xmarks, and Mac people can use Xmarks-for-Mac. Xmarks extensions is exactly the same as Chrome extensions, so if you're looking to add Xmarks to Firefox, then it's the same for Chrome too. The best way to use it on Chrome is by downloading the Xmarks Chrome extension, but to be honest the Chrome install is simpler so let's start with that. Once you've downloaded the xmarks-chrome-extension package, click on it. It will open the extension page.

On the right side, click Add to Chrome. It will ask you to accept the add-on. Now that's done, the extension icon should appear in the search bar in the top-right corner.

Now if you click the extension it will give you more options. You can search for websites and find the extension or you can click the Download button and install it straight from the add-on page. The only real advantage of that option is that you'll be asked before you get to Chrome, what to do. That's very convenient.

Just remember that you need to have an Xmarks account installed, and be logged in on Chrome before you install. If you're not already signed in on Chrome, sign in with your Xmarks credentials in the field on the bottom-left. Click on the Login button.

You'll get redirected back to Chrome where the extension tab is. Click on the Install button.

Chrome will ask if you want to allow it to run on your PC.
