Is Amazon Video different than Amazon Prime?
I am trying to buy an HDMI-ready Sony PS3 to use it with my new Sony Bravia, but my Amazon searches for HDMI have only yielded results like this: , which don't list TVs in the listings.
My first instinct is that Prime (which I am a member) is no longer valid, but I may be confused. Any thoughts? In fact, there are a couple of people on this forum who have verified they got cheaper Amazon orders this way. I myself have a very cheap Amazon order of a Sony TV I received within a day. If the new rules change things I hope I can get it again.
What kind of deals are we talking about? That's an interesting idea. So far in over two years, I haven't received any such deal, though I've been able to take advantage of some of the discount on Amazon VOD, as well as free shipping deals. I suppose a good place to find good deals on stuff is ebay, where the sellers tend to price their items more aggressively than you'd see on Amazon or Ebay.
As far as I know Amazon does not charge anyone for using Amazon video but they do offer it for free to Amazon Prime members if you're logged into the member section. The discounts that other posters mentioned aren't available to non-members but it's possible to get them by using your Amazon mobile device or smartphone. The free 2-day shipping offer applies for everything regardless of membership.
I guess we're talking big deals, and the biggest I've seen I still consider fairly safe because Amazon does not make them too often, and I'm sure they'd have to post them one of their site. In terms of the Amazon VOD offers that other posters listed, the last time I saw any I was able to purchase a PS3 at its list price (but I think it went down shortly after that).

How to watch Amazon Video outside the US.
If you're outside the US, you can only access a small portion of the content on Amazon Video in English via its web site. The website is very well-organized; you can search for different series, TV shows, or movies (click on TV or movies for this category). If you can't find what you want, try looking at Amazon Video under Popular Categories.
You can sort the results by Most Viewed, Newest, or Best Seller. You can watch any Amazon Video item in its entirety on your Kindle.
Most of what you can watch, however, is free. That's because most of what Amazon Video offers is actually a stream of videos recorded by YouTube and licensed by Amazon. Some of these streams are pay-per-view, some are available for free, some require a subscription, and some are free, like the live channel or video clips (for example, when it comes to the Christmas special edition of Downton Abbey, The Great War that preceded it is accessible to all).99 a month.
There are other limitations outside the US, too. For example, to watch any Amazon Video content outside of the US, you have to go through Netflix's website.
But this is not a review of how to watch Amazon Video outside the US. I'd suggest simply searching on Amazon Video to see if a show is available at all. Also, if you're looking to watch a series that Amazon sold, don't forget to check out the Amazon Originals list to see what new series may be about the character who is being introduced into your life through the series.
Here are details about the current availability of Amazon Video content internationally: France. Amazon.fr offers many popular US titles and series for rent and sale in French, English, and Spanish.
