What is the risk of Windscribe?
Windscribe is safe to use.
Because it's a web proxy service, it is unlikely that any data will pass through your machine and onto a third party website, unless you accidentally follow the bad guys' links. Windscribe protects data that it forwards to a third party from being inspected by an outside source. It's easy to turn off in the Settings option within the Web Traffic menu, which will eliminate any possibility of unwanted outside access to sensitive information.
Windscribe doesn't provide access to private websites. Private sites mean you've signed into another account. If you're signed into one social media network, only your information on that site will be protected. Windscribe won't keep track of who logged into those websites or how long they were logged into them for. It won't monitor the activity of those sites. However, Windscribe does allow you to forward information about that site when you're signed into Facebook, Gmail, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest, LinkedIn or a similar public website. So for example, you can look at all the pages you viewed on a restaurant's website during your visit, but only once you're signed in to Facebook. Or you can look at all your posts on a restaurant's timeline if you're logged into Facebook. Because Windscribe provides protection for your activity on other social media networks, we recommend against using Windscribe as a browser proxy.
What is the risk of VPNs? VPNs will offer the advantage of keeping your browser's IP address hidden from the website that you're visiting, so that other people who see your online activities won't be able to identify you. That being said, this additional layer of privacy protection is not foolproof. For example, a company called Baidu operates a free VPN service to users in China. That means that when you're visiting any site that operates outside of China, that data is being passed through Baidu's servers and being used to target ads for Baidu customers outside of China.
We also want to mention that VPNs aren't recommended to protect your IP address if you plan on sharing videos or movies. Videos are encrypted, and therefore it's not possible to re-download a file unless you're able to decrypt it.
Can Windscribe be trusted?
We are in a world where everything is free but at times, this practice is not the best.
There are numerous streaming sites that provide us with free music. In most cases, the content is safe to play but sometimes this isn't entirely the case. As such, it is prudent to be skeptical whenever you listen to these streaming music websites. This is because we might be listening to something that could possibly make us look for viruses in our computers and devices.
If there are any signs of malware in your computer, chances are that it might be dangerous. Thus, if there are any symptoms of possible malware on your machine, it's best to do some background check on the website in question.
It is worth noting that Windscribe is a legitimate service that many people have been using with no issues whatsoever. Because of this, it makes it easier to understand that it is difficult to verify the legitimacy of every streaming music website or other website that gives out free stuff. For example, when you visit Soundcloud, you would probably see that they provide you with free streams of various songs. While there are definitely some positives to this streaming platform, there are also negatives. When you search for your favorite song or artist on their website, you'd notice that they also provide you with music from artists that you don't want.
Windscribe has been around for quite some time now and it has grown into a reputable name in the streaming industry. It is very much known for its reliability, but it also provides good service when it comes to security. The site is one that you can always trust and even if you get a bad taste in your mouth because of what they do, at least it is a legitimate platform. You are assured of being safe because of its SSL connection protocol.
When you go to the website, you will notice the fact that you need to verify your account first before you can be given access to premium accounts. This is done because Windscribe wants to make sure that you are legitimate and will also not attempt to trick you by requesting money or information. It is worth noting that Windscribe offers premium services that provide you with a faster browsing experience and faster downloads.
Windscribe has been reliable in the past because you can be sure that you won't get redirected to a malware-ridden site. You won't find yourself running into problems downloading and listening to the content.
Does Windscribe sell your data?
Updated on December 11, 2016By admin.
The big privacy companies like Google, Facebook and Twitter have long been accused of selling user data to the highest bidder. Is the same story true of Windscribe, a free, Canadian Internet Service Provider (ISP)? Windscribe has been on our radar for some time now. It has been around for at least 8 years and has a number of features that stand out from other offerings available in the market today. These features make it particularly useful in the field of internet privacy. In this post we look at Windscribe's history, its features and more importantly, how it deals with user privacy.
Where is Windscribe based? Windscribe Ltd. Is a startup based in Toronto, Canada. It is a member of the 'Startupbootcamp' program launched by the Government of Ontario. It was granted a Business Development Corporation license which exempts it from a lot of regulation. Startupbootcamp is a program that offers an entire year of services and support to help you start your company. It also helps the program partners develop and implement their business strategies.
It is interesting that unlike other members of the Program, Windscribe is a Canadian company. We hope that this will help to ensure the company is protected from unwanted government interference and other such legal liabilities.
What does Windscribe offer? Windscribe's goal is simple: to provide its users with a secure email address. By default, you get an email address that works pretty well in the standard browsers. However, there are other benefits to Windscribe. One is that it does not store any email address in the cloud and can't therefore be abused in any way. Windscribe is also able to give you the option of paying for an account which would give you more features and functionality. We will come to that later.
Windscribe also allows you to pick and choose what emails go to your different email accounts. This means that if you have two primary email accounts - say, gmail and yahoo, you get two different addresses that do not conflict with each other. With Windscribe, the names of your accounts do not matter as you will only get unique mail addresses. What is more, Windscribe offers a variety of email protection options like encryption, end-to-end encryption and the use of different domains and hosting options.
