Can PIA VPN be tracked?

I am currently implementing a VPN connection to my university, I need to know whether they can be able to track my VPN traffic.

Is the public IP address of my VPN server accessible for other users of that VPN, or the network itself? If it is the latter, then how would my IP address get into the network at all? If this is the case, could I simply create multiple public IP addresses for different users? Would this be as good as I can do? Thanks! Tracking your data traffic isn't something that any VPN provider should do. If they did, you'd have no privacy and they'd be violating their own terms of service. However, you should expect this for all VPN providers. Whether your VPN provider is on the level of keeping track or not depends on the individual provider.

By default, VPN connections are configured to tunnel all traffic over the VPN connection. This means that the traffic will travel back through the same server that was used to connect to the VPN server in the first place. Your VPN connection will be tunneled all the way back to your university and the VPN server, if necessary. The public IP address of the VPN server is not accessible by others.

Is PIA better than IPVanish?

I've been surfing some forums lately, and as of recently I've seen a lot of PIA users talking about how PIA is better than IPVanish.

I haven't yet tested IPVanish, but from what I've read PIA works well in almost every country, whereas IPVanish is pretty much confined to US residents. If anyone has any experience with these services, I'd love to know if there are any advantages to using one over the other.

Here are a couple of things to note: To access anything using either service, you have to create a VPN account (and register if you choose to), which I would consider a significant disadvantage. For many people, that's the difference between paying for access to sites like Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon, etc. And access to them by default (just like if you use a local network at home).

To the best of my knowledge, IPVanish has both paid and free accounts. Also, when I read that IPVanish only covers the United States, this is what I remembered: IPVanish does not currently work in Canada. It also does not work in Australia or Singapore, though we hope to remedy this soon.

Since this is such a recent development, it might be possible that their free package offers access to these countries, though I don't think it will be cheap. Thank you for those. I should be able to test it within the next few days, I think. I do use a program called TestMyTor from anonops.co that I use to test and measure the speed of various servers all over the world. I have noticed that you need to log in to anything for these services, which is a very welcome change. Thanks again.
