Can you track IP address on Google Maps?

How can I find the exact location of an IP address for free?

In the world of data science, many people need to identify the locations of IP addresses but the process of doing so can be tedious.

It takes a considerable amount of time, energy and money to use various software, browser add-ons and websites to search for a user's location.

In this post, I will go over 7 free and fast ways that help you do that. Any computer with an IP address may be called an IP address machine or an IP computer. If your friend tries to contact you using IP address that belongs to your university then it may indicate to a system administrator who is trying to hack into the network or identify your IP address which usually means the server hosting a website you are visiting. What a web server sees is an IP address from your ISP; there is nothing like the concept of a private IP address or domain name for them. You need to resolve the IP address to identify what server is hosting the website you are currently browsing. In this article, we will show how to find IP address of an unknown web server with Python programming language.

The first step to do this task is to install the two required libraries of Python programming language and Beautiful Soup libraries which we will describe in detail in the following steps. Prerequisites To Begin. Python version 3.6.8 or higher

Beautiful Soup 4.7 or higher Let's assume you need to find out the location of the IP address 112.198.101.2 because that is the IP address that comes up when we open a URL on our browser as below:

Before beginning our programming journey, it is necessary to explain the concept behind IP address in the previous section. When you are browsing a website, whether you are on mobile phone or laptop, the protocol (HTTP) connects to the specific server which owns the IP address and then the requests come to the specific server that owns the IP address.

Can you track IP address on Google Maps?

The way it works is this: they send a request to your web server for map information.

When the map page loads, a cookie is set. The cookie holds an identifier and other info. Next time you visit Google Maps and it's requesting the map, they look at the cookie and see what you're doing (or not) and then give you the information.

Does this work? There is no standard mechanism for websites to set and read cookies. That being said, you can do a Google search for cookie tracking on Google maps to find out more about the technique.

In order for this to work, you'll need to make sure that the Google Maps service is loading in a web page that has a CookieEnabled parameter set. This means that the web server is set to accept cookies. Unfortunately, there's no way to force a Google Map to load with that parameter set. You'll need to look at every URL that you're sending a request to. Some sites have CookieEnabled=true in their URL and some sites are so set up that they serve Google Map pages without that parameter set.

If you can't make sure that the parameter is set, then you can go to Google.com and find the map in question. Look at the URL of the map. If it contains a (that's an important &), then you know that you can set the parameter. You can try setting the parameter and then reloading the page to see if you've got the parameter set. If the page reloads properly, you should be good. If the page doesn't reload correctly, then your server won't be able to accept cookies.

Do this before you write a new function that sends your own map requests to Google. Using the parameter to track IP addresses is a pretty easy trick. Just make sure that the parameter is set before making your request.
