Why is my mic not working on Mac?

When I connect the microphone, it is not connected to my Mac via Audio Midi interface.

What am I doing wrong? PS: I am new to audio workstations (as of now, at least). I started about 1.5 weeks ago (I use only windows at the moment).

It looks like you connected a standard microphone plug to a USB hub with USB 1.1 support.

USB 2.0 has a different signaling protocol that allows for much higher audio quality and should be used instead of USB 1.1 if possible.

Answer: Open Safari.e. Go to Preferences. Click on the Privacy tab. A box should be displayed which reads Allow App Extensions to access private information. Check the box for WebCam and click OK.

Close the Preferences window and open a site using Safari.e. The answer is based on Windows Vista, but is also suitable for Windows 7. Windows Vista and Windows 7 has similar features for Webcam software, so any similar settings you have made for one operating system can be applied to the other. There are three ways to set your Webcam software preferences: Click on Settings (on the Webcam icon) to bring up a screen with a checkbox in front of each setting. You can click the Camera control under the settings menu at the top of the screen to bring up a menu of camera settings. Select Settings and this opens a series of controls.
