I need to download movies on my Mac for offline viewing.

Can I download Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime videos to watch on my mac? iPad is always the best one. It offers offline playback, the best user interface, and it has the best app for watching. If you want to watch videos in the way of a portable device, it will be a good choice.

Apple TV can't be the best choice. It won't be possible for you to stream the video from other devices in the same network. And its network support is quite limited.

If you have some Mac with an iTunes account, you can use iTunes Match. It will match the songs that you recorded to your iTunes library with those in the iTunes library on the cloud. This option is available in iTunes 10.6 and higher. This app is available in iTunes 9.1 and higher.

With the above two apps, you can not only watch movies from your iTunes library, but also download them for offline playback. These are the free apps provided by Apple. But these may not be perfect for you. If you would like to do this, you may pay a few bucks for some better apps.

Can I watch Netflix offline on my Mac?

I have my Android TV connected to a TV at home and so I'm able to stream Netflix, Amazon Video and so on.

However I want to watch Netflix on my Macbook as well and it doesn't appear to be an option. Does anyone know of a fix? My laptop is running 10.9 and the TV is running 11.4. I am also aware of 'Airplay' but this is not streaming.

My Mac (Retina, Late 2012) is able to play videos just fine through iTunes or Finder, but when I try to open a Netflix app directly on my desktop (10.3) it takes about 20 seconds before it launches, and then it works as described. If it opens directly in Finder or iTunes it works immediately. If I try to set the Watch on setting to Apple TV, I don't get the black-screen loading and the device just won't stream any content.

I have checked all of the standard settings, including the AirPlay setting (and disabled it), I have tried to turn the screen brightness down to low, I have tried the different versions of Netfix available, and have tried a couple of other methods for playing a streamed file that I found online. Have you tried turning off your Mac and seeing if it works? Are you still able to play a video from any of your other devices? How do you know that the Mac has the right codecs installed? The video I wanted to stream was actually taken from a GoPro camera that I used to record a short piece of music I had written, but you can see what I'm talking about here: I made the mistake of thinking I could take a video and send it to my iPhone to upload to Youtube (which I never did) but if you open the video in iTunes on the Mac you should see a little box on the top right with an exclamation mark in it, showing that something may be wrong. I would suggest downloading the video to your hard drive and re-watching it to check if you see any errors.

How do I download Netflix app on my Mac?

There are two ways to download the Netflix app on your Mac.

The first is to use the built-in Mac App Store, and the second is to download the app directly.
