Hey what's up everybody, this is Mike for DailyTekk. Today we're going to have a look at Surfshark for the PC, Mac and Linux. They're kind of well-known for their cloud computing platform, for running VPNs and doing a whole bunch of stuff, but their main focus was always on software. Now they've rebranded, but the old site is still up and running so we'll have a look at how they work and why they stop working.

Let's start with some basic information about Surfshark and what their business model is. Now, in case you don't know, Surfshark is owned by CloudFlare. You see their banner up here on our page. They're very well known for their cloud services.

So they do a lot of the things we'll see them do here. But, just to explain how Surfshark works, I've taken their old site and put it in the player below. You can actually see that every time we click, they get to a different location or URL. So we're basically showing that. This is a little example of their business model. The first, you can see, they're going to the www.surfshark.com, where they actually host all of their clients. In fact, that's what their business model is, they host all the VPN servers that we'll see later.

Now let's move on to a couple of interesting features. First of all, I want to go to their home page. This is If you go to this, you'll actually see that they run an instance of CloudFlare as a free content delivery network. So you can actually see the name of our host there. You can also see that they serve static pages through CloudFlare. They really don't do any dynamic content here. So if we go here, for example, you see an article from their blog.

On the left side here, you'll see we're redirected to CloudFlare, which is obviously their CDN. On the right side, you'll see the URL which we'd have seen if were going to another site. This is not a dynamic feature, it's just how they've structured things.
