How do I enable OpenVPN on Android?

You need to install 2 apks. One for Google Play Store, and the other is for Google Play Services. You can install both apks from this link: (Google Play Services) and (OpenVPN).

OpenVPN app. OpenVPN has a simple installation process. Once downloaded, you just need to drag OpenVPN app to your home screen and it will automatically start downloading everything needed for the server connection.

VPN server setup: The VPN server setup is quite easy. The default name of the server will be in italics. For example: myvpn is the default name, and you can change it to whatever you want. The server address (IP) will be listed in bold. In your case, the server address will be 192.168.178.1, which means that you will connect to the OpenVPN server using TCP port 1194 (I think this number is only for the OpenVPN server, and different clients will use different port numbers).

Once you are done with your network configuration settings, go to 'settings' and enter your credentials if they are specified there. Remember that if you are using a new device, it might take some time to get connected, so if it doesn't happen immediately, wait for some time. For example, I had to do a factory reset and then add my credentials again, but it worked this time. However, even after doing this it took some time to connect.

After connecting to the VPN, your network settings may become lost because you didn't specify a custom VPN location, so you need to set it up manually now. For Windows and Mac, go to 'settings' and you should see the icon that looks like a magnifying glass inside the settings. Tap on this icon and then go to VPN Connections. Then tap on the 'Add VPN Connection' option and fill out the connection settings. On Windows go to Network and Sharing Center and select VPN connections from the list. Some android phones have the capability of allowing root access by default (if your device has Android 4.2) so you should be good to go there.
