How do I check my screen usage on Android?
The best app that does that and is easy to use
We all have to be aware of how much data we use on our mobile phone.
I want to keep my smartphone from eating my data plan. If there was a free Android app or iPhone app that could check my phone usage, it would help tremendously. And you should always know how much of your phone is in use. For most people this can be challenging.
I know that using an app that limits data like data monitor is great, but what if you want the best app? I tried many apps. Data manager app are OK, but only last 1 month.
To top it off, I need to be able to do this for both my Android and iOS phone. I looked at other apps, but they were either to complicated to use or way too simple.
I'm looking for the best data monitoring and data counter app on Android. Please try to look for the feature on Android phone. A simple counter meter or graph would be sufficient.
Data management apps help me keep my cell phone from eating my data plan. I don't want my cell phone to eat up my data plan! Here are some good ones for both Android and iPhone. Note: I found them via reviews that you can read.
On Android. Data Monitor is the easiest to use. The biggest issue with Data Monitor is that it takes forever to actually show how much data you have used on your phone. On Android, take a couple minutes and go into your app drawer and click on the Settings and turn off data monitor which will disable Data Monitor. Then install the app again and make sure it allows you to save this setting. Data monitor still won't work, but now the saved setting will save the amount of data you have used the last time you were connected. I usually get a nice reading once it is connected. It even lets me connect and disconnect my phone. Great!
It's only a buck! and is quite nice. It doesn't require a lot of manual tweaking.
How do I restrict my phone usage?
I want to restrict my phone usage to an hour a day.
For example, if I use my phone for more than an hour, the phone will automatically shut down and my battery will drain.
Is there a way to set it up so that it will automatically shut off if I'm using my phone for more than an hour? You could set a timer in your alarm clock app. If the timer reaches 1 hour you'll be prompted with an alert to shutdown your phone.
Yes, a way of doing this is with a 'wake-on-timer' (a way of delaying the screen turning on). This is usually done through Android's power manager settings.
Go to Settings > Display > Power Saving and turn on 'Wake on Timer'. You will then be presented with an alert (if you have a notification) after 1 hour if the screen is turned on. You can then choose to do as you wish.
Is there an app to limit Screen Time?
Hello I'm in the process of setting myself up for success at work.
I found out that I get a lot of screen time and with my job being mainly social media focused it can get really out of hand. So I need an app to do the following:
It should be able to limit my own time-It needs to have notifications if I exceed this limit, it can't just automatically be blocked. I want to be able to set that it is set on 30 minute increments of my own choice-I need to see what apps i'm using on the phone and then when I hit that limit I need it to put me in that app (for example: Whatsapp/Twitter-It can't automatically block them from sending messages or tweets. It needs to be able to put me into the app and limit what I do while i'm in there, so it's not as easy as blocking it)-Once I am put into that app I need it to stop limiting what I do until the set limit has been reached or until I am back in the app that lets me use it -I need an app that keeps me motivated with points and challenges that I earn if I meet those and gets rid of apps that are using way too much of my time. This way i'll feel bad if I get myself stuck on a task or game. There should also be challenges and awards for me to get for meeting certain tasks, like being the top 3 in a competition. Something similar to: there's one that I really like
I don't really want to give the phone to my parents. I also need to monitor that for my sisters account. I am working with a therapist so there might be things that are more acceptable for her to monitor, such as my phone
Sorry for all the text. Any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm open to suggestions outside of an app, I don't mind if its online and mobile based.
