Is using Hotspot Shield safe?
I was thinking of installing Hotspot Shield in my laptop. I am not sure if I should. I have read that the NSA/FISA and many other governments around the world are trying to get access to the information that we send through the Internet. Would the use of Hotspot Shield allow them to get access to the information?
And, what are some good ways of securing our data while on the go? Thanks in advance. "The Internet interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. We cannot be sure, but if you use a VPN that is owned by the government, the government could see all of your traffic. If the VPN is owned by a corporation, the corporation could see your traffic.
ExpressVPN is owned by no one, and it's the best.

Is Hotspot Shield safe Reddit?
I find myself wanting to know if it is safe to use Hotspot Shield with Reddit. I use it with Facebook, so I know that I can do that, but I do not know if that will affect my Reddit account. Any help would be appreciated.
Comments. I don't know if it will affect your Reddit account, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. There are multiple ways to get Reddit content on your computer. One of them is through Reddit itself. Another is through the browser extension. Another is through the mobile app. If you use those all the time, you're fine. If you use them less frequently, you might want to take a look at this thread on Reddit: I know that I use the browser extension and mobile app, but I'm not sure about the rest.
I use it for my Facebook and Google accounts and have no problems. Just make sure you have the correct "add to Facebook" and "add to Google" options selected in your profile.
I've never used it with Reddit. I just have my phone linked to my Google account and use it for Reddit with my Google account. It would be helpful to know if the service has been blocked by Reddit, but I'm not sure how that would work.
@PeteTS: Thanks for the advice. I am looking forward to trying it out. I will look into it more and see if I have any issues. If it is safe, then I will let my other accounts on the computer be logged in as well.
I've been using it for the last few weeks with my Facebook and Google accounts. I use it on my phone and it works fine. I was logged into my Reddit account and it was just a matter of opening up the browser and entering the URL for the site I want to go to. I have never received any pop ups or notices from Reddit. I guess I'll be safe. I can use it on my phone too, so that is an added bonus. Thanks for the info.
I tried to use it today and it was a pain. I found that I had to use Chrome. I was able to connect and it went without any problems.
Is the free version of Hotspot Shield safe?
I've been on this for about four weeks now and I'm still getting a headache over the amount of spam that's coming through my computer. The site is amazing and it's one of my favorite extensions. However, I really don't want to be sending my personal information out to hundreds of companies. I've had a lot of spam come through my laptop (about 20 pieces in 4 weeks) and even my desktop (almost 200 pieces in 3 weeks). My friends are using it on their Android and iPhones and they've never had any issues. Does anyone know if this is really safe or does it just seem like it is?
