What to watch when you have no clue what to watch?

What to watch when you have no clue what to watch?

I'm in a bit of a panic!

All four of my little ones are in school, so I can't just veg in front of the TV. The hubs is out watching wrestling with the boys right now, so I thought I'd get some free time to catch up on work and such, while he's not looking. However, none of the networks play TV-PG until it's over with, so we have nothing to watch together as a family.

What do I have to watch? I'm up to 10 days behind, and honestly can't wait to catch up on all of your great posts! So what should I be watching? I usually stick to one genre of tv (dramas, usually), but am open to suggestions (especially since I'm in Toronto!). I'm going to do this as an experiment myself. I'm about to go home for Thanksgiving from school, and I usually go into a food coma by that point (if I'm really being honest) and miss the day. But I'm totally up to taking a stab at how we will spend our long weekend.

Since I'm not around any food to snack on here is the list of the things I'll be cooking/eating on the big weekend. Thursday, October 28, 2023. I have a slight obsession with baking cupcakes. Yes, even as I'm typing that sentence I know that it's completely unhealthy and totally not "good for me" (you're still reading huh?) But man does it just taste delicious. And there's really no way around that once you've got all the cupcake baking ingredients out you feel like you just want to keep eating batter. I'm guilty of that sometimes as a baker - or, rather, as an eating human being.

While I normally bake cupcakes from scratch with buttercream, I'll have to skip that because I'm making an entire batch of these from a box mix, so I've adapted it a bit in lieu of doing something more authentic. You know that recipe that they always print in newspapers for baked goods that have the word "recipe" in the title, and everyone thinks it's the same thing? That's what the cupcake mix looks like. It looks like the exact way they always made them - no changes.

How do you decide which movies to watch?

You pick the ones you're going to watch, or do you wait for inspiration?

When it comes to writing, I'm in the first camp. I decide which book to write by what I'm feeling (sad, happy, excited). But I get very tired of the whole process very quickly. And in my case, inspiration strikes me while I'm working on something else. I get to a point where I've written a paragraph or two, then I'll begin wondering what book to write next. Then I'll start writing something else and wonder what I should be writing.

So I try to keep things simple. I'll read a magazine or newspaper article that piques my interest, write a few notes in my notebook, then set aside time to write. Sometimes I'll write before going to sleep, but often I'll simply sit down and write for a while before thinking about anything else.

But sometimes, you can't force inspiration, and it takes a while to come. And I don't want to waste time on something that will never materialize. I mean, I love writing, and I love thinking about writing, but I don't want to do it just for the sake of doing it.

So how do you decide which book to write? Which movie to watch? Do you have a muse? Do you wait for inspiration? Tell me your thoughts in the comments below. I read a lot of book blogs and I really like the ones that have a theme. Not so much the one-one blogs. You all have such interesting blogs that it's hard to keep up with them all, so I've tried to group the ones I follow into themes. I find that makes it easier to navigate through the blogosphere.

In my group, we have book clubs, reviews, memoirs, mystery novels, and everything in between. If you're looking for book blogs with a certain theme, feel free to check out my group.

I'm going to use this post to collect some of the book blogs I read most. As I read more blogs, I'll update the list, but right now, I'm at the point of saturation.

What movie can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of?

Here are the 15 longest running series from Netflix that have been streaming uninterruptedly for a year.

By Alexia Tsotsis. The thing about Netflix is that it never really stops. If you've watched all your favorite TV shows, you can go and binge on some of its latest releases, or you could be a little more adventurous and check out something new. With over 120 million members in 190 countries, Netflix is available in countless languages (with over 50 different subtitles). So even if you don't speak a single word of the language, you could still easily read what everyone else on-screen is saying without worrying too much about pronunciation. This also means that if a TV show doesn't look interesting to you now, you'll probably never feel like giving it another chance. It's just not meant to be.

However, there are some shows on Netflix that have been continuously streaming for a year or longer without going through any of the above processes. Some of them are old TV shows, but others are some of the latest films to come out on the streaming service. No matter the type, they are well worth your time!
