Can you cancel Netflix on your phone?
You may have read my post about the new 'My Account' on Netflix.com - it's easy to use, so you can manage your account from your phone and add and remove DVDs and streaming content from your mobile device.
However, it has also made me think a bit more about how Netflix could do things differently. I've also noticed that many people are now cancelling their Netflix subscriptions.
There are several reasons why this is happening - you can read more about the issues here: I think the Netflix team could do more to make the cancellation process easier. In the case of new members, it's probably not a big deal for them to go through the signing up process again. But, if you've cancelled once, you have to remember the password and find your billing info - which isn't always obvious.
One solution would be to offer a 'One time signup' option for people who want to cancel. They could then set up their account, get it to work, but only sign up to cancel it again.
This would be useful for customers who only want to use the service for a short period of time (eg a week). They could then just sign up when they need to use it and not worry about the hassle of remembering the password.
They could also send you a notification to let you know when you're about to run out of time. Another problem is that if you don't receive a notification for a long period of time, you'll have to go back to the Netflix site to find out how much time is left. I'd suggest that they could notify you with a notification on your mobile app or by sending you an email. I'd also suggest that they provide a link to cancel in the email so you don't have to remember where it is. I've also noticed that they've recently changed the way they're notifying you about the fact that your membership is about to expire. Instead offering a link to go to their site and sign up for a new subscription, they now just say that your membership is about to expire.
I think this could be more effective.
Does Netflix cancel immediately?
The answer to that question varies by viewer, but a basic truth remains: Netflix cancels its programming more than any other television network. And even though Netflix is only three years old, we already know that it never forgets a customer. In fact, every month, Netflix grows by thousands of new subscribers. But do they stay for more than one month?
We reached out to two different Netflix representatives, who shared what we know about the cancellation history of Netflix subscribers. How can you tell if Netflix cancels your subscription? According to the two people we talked to, Netflix canceled your account if you did not access the service within the past four weeks. That means if you accessed the service on January 3, 2023, and then, somehow, cancelled your account or changed the login info on February 7, 2023, you'd technically be canceled.
This doesn't necessarily mean the company thinks you don't want to see their shows. For example, according to one representative, one subscriber's account was closed for 30 days, but the person still had the content available when they accessed the service on February 7, 2023. They simply chose not to watch.
What if you cancel mid-season? If you cancel during a season of a show, you'll see a notification when you access Netflix later. After that, you can use the Next watchlist tab to see what's coming up on Netflix, if you choose to watch. According to our two sources, the company will not automatically refund or give the money back to you for shows that have already aired. Netflix will cancel your subscription immediately, and you won't get that money back.
We're not sure if this policy still applies if you cancel in the middle of an entire series (as opposed to during a season), but we've reached out to the company for clarification. But what if I'm just tired of Netflix? If you're just not enjoying Netflix anymore, don't blame them for canceling your account. The company doesn't want your money, even if you cancel it. When you signed up, you agreed to a contract that stated the length of the service.
Can I cancel Netflix and get a refund?
My husband and I just got Netflix, we started with 3 discs and then found ourselves spending far more on discs than Netflix is charging us. We are now up to around 40 and are still subscribing. How can we get our money back, I don't want the discs just my membership. Can we cancel?
Dear P.O.S.I,
If you want to cancel your Netflix service, just go to your Netflix website, log in, go to the account management section, click on Manage your account, scroll down and you will see something like the picture below and then you can delete your account or simply cancel it. Hope this helps! Where can I get a refund of internet streaming service? Hi there. I am not actually asking for answer or asking for how to apply a refund on internet streaming service, but rather where I can look up where to apply a refund for a video streaming service. For example, I purchased a 3 month subscription of Netflix that I ended up only using for 2 months. So what happens to my unopened subscription? Will it be sent to some sort of recycling bin? Do I have to do anything to get a refund for unused services? Where can I go to find out how to apply a refund for the unused portion of my subscription (ie. If that was possible)? Sorry for all the questions, I just got a new iPhone so I figured why not post all the FAQ's before I got my head hurt?
You should definitely go here to see what's going on. Is netflix available in Canada? This may be obvious but I can't find it on their website. I have tried Canada and the US Netflix website and have only found DVDs but not the service they are advertising as being available. I hope I'm asking the right question.
Is it easy to cancel Netflix?
Yes.
Is it easy to cancel your credit card? Is it easy to cancel your mobile phone contract? Is it easy to cancel your electricity contract? And if you want to cancel any of these services, you don't have to wait for them to end, you cancel at any time. It doesn't matter if you are a month early, a day early, or even a second early.
Yes, it is that simple to cancel. It's also very easy to cancel your current service and start a new one, in just a few minutes. So, if you're happy with your current provider, then why would you even want to cancel? Why would you want to stay with them when you could be with us? I want you to take a moment right now to imagine what life would be like if you were with us. How good would it feel to be able to switch providers whenever you wanted, because you weren't tied to a contract? If you want the freedom to choose how much you pay for your service, why would you want to stay with a service that requires you to pay a certain amount each month, for the rest of your life? I want you to imagine a world where you could cancel your internet service whenever you wanted. Imagine not having to wait until your service is about to end to cancel it. Imagine being able to cancel it any time, any day, without any restrictions. You could even cancel on a Sunday, and still have access to all the same great content that we have here. Do you think that sounds better than staying with your current provider? Why wouldn't you want to switch? I know that I wouldn't want to stay with my current provider. My family and I recently had to switch internet service providers because our previous one had made a mistake with our billing. When we realized what had happened, it was too late to switch back to our old provider. But, even though it was a mistake, the process of switching providers was still a pain.
