How do I extract text from a picture in Word?

Can I take a picture of words and convert to text?

If you want to do conversion from image to text, you can use one of the free API provided by Google Vision.

You may take a picture of a document that contains your text and convert it to text. You also can have a good experience, and it also has a free plan.

It's easy to get started: you only need to paste the text that you want to identify into the field on the web page and choose the desired language and model.

How do I extract text from a picture in Word?

I have a document which contains the text in a picture.

In word there is an option to extract text from the picture. If you select the box it shows text above the box and in the bottom you can move the cursor to that picture and it will highlight it as a picture. Now with that I simply double click on the mouse and it has my text under it. When I then print or export it to pdf it does not print because the page is full of small rectangles instead of a single box. How do I get this to work?InlineShapes(1)

How do you grab text in Word?

I was at the home of an old friend of mine who recently gave me a book about how to create books from text.

There are many ways to do this, using Adobe InDesign and Publisher for example, but my friend uses Word and he has to do it in Word. He has a book for beginners that he wants me to design the cover for. I don't have any experience designing covers for books (except for the occasional cover for my own books) but the author explained the steps of how to grab text, so I tried it.

Open the document and set the "view" to "page layout". This will cause a box to pop up around the text. You can adjust the size of the box by holding alt.

Make sure you're right at the right margin and don't go beyond the edge of the page. Then drag the box over to the edge where you want the text on the cover. When you let go of the mouse it should move back to the middle.

When you click "close box" it will ask you to name it "Text Frame". So click ok and type in a title and then click ok. This text frame should be included in the final document and everything outside of it will no longer be visible.

From here I went to the website he provided to see what else I can learn about the process of designing covers. Here are some things I learned: When designing a cover you have to get really close to the edge of the page, even when selecting very small portions. It's very important to always select the exact area you want. Don't go beyond it. This is very common when people are new to doing this and they try to get as close as possible to the edge.

You can drag directly on top of the image if you know exactly where you want it to be. That is one thing that isn't covered in his instructions (although the web site does tell you how to select that image later). I have trouble finding specific areas like that.

You have to be very careful with moving the text frames. If you accidentally click "add new text frame", everything outside of it gets erased, so make sure you don't want that.

Is there a way to copy words from a picture?

It is quite complex.

The image is in SVG format and is not editable. Also is there some program that can do it

Or should I go and code it by myself ?w3.org/2000/svg%22%20width%3D%2232%22%20height%3D%2232%22%3E%3Chttp%3A%2Fwww.yoursite.com%2Ffavicon.ico%3E%3C/svg%3E%3Cembed%20src%3D%22data%3Adatahigh-bit-image%2Bbase64%2Dstring%26quality%3Dhigh%26file%3DSVG%20for%20Web%20Image%20-%20ico%2F32x32.ico%22%20width%3D%22500%2520height%3D%22500%2520type%3D%22image/svg%22%3E" />

But I don't know how to use the string with variable? You could do it from a Javascript function inside your tag. But you're not going to have it easily parsed like HTML.

In general if the output format is static just do what you'd like, if its dynamic look into Javascript or PHP.
