Who owns Kape technology?

This question is asked so many times over this forum.

I'm just asking for simple and logical explanation! For every country of course. So it's a free zone for some people but "owned" by some others? Can my data, for example, still be tracked even if I'm not using a SIM card? I have a rooted phone so the possibility of having spyware installed in my system is almost possible, but I don't see any apps with spyware or something that is linked to Kape technology on my devices.

I have noticed the following over the last three months while using Kape technology. The data of some mobile operators of Ukraine was deleted or changed for the user who used those Kape SIM cards. Kape works well to block the ads by different services like Super Ad Blocker by F-Secure, but at the same time, the ads on a certain website or service could not be blocked as expected. However, the Kape ad filters were not activated for those specific websites and services.

Certain websites or certain services might slow down over the last month or two depending on how users access them. If the users are coming from a Kape-tracked location then they would get a better experience over an ordinary device.

The fact that any website does not work well for users coming from certain countries should be a sign that Kape is not reliable but only good in some areas and bad in others. What about the fact that, while reading this article, I could read all advertisements on this website but I could not read any ads on another site, although both sites have the same code of that website or that website might have changed something? And, if someone is reading an article on Wikipedia right now, and I'm using that Kape-tracked device, the articles should start working faster than the usual device, correct? If a site has a "cache", which is really just a simple program that is designed to check frequently-updated content in order to minimize the number of requests to the server, there will not be an effect in terms of load times unless you really visit that page. Also, some pages might require more resources in the web browser itself, and hence you'll still end up with similar performance on a different device.

Is Kape Technologies owned by China?

Why has it been so difficult to track the company's ownership and history?

It is common to hear that a company will be sold or acquired by a Chinese investor. In the context of Kape Technologies, this has been a misleading statement for the simple reason that Kape was not sold or acquired; it was in fact incorporated in China with ownership residing in Chinese citizens.

A search on the company's name reveals two publicly available documents. One of the companies, Kape Information & Communication Technologies (Limited) Company, was incorporated on October 21, 2025 in the State of Shenzhen. The other is the Hong Kong Stock Exchange filing of Kape (International) Limited.

The former was incorporated as a limited company in China, however, was sold to a Hong Kong corporation based out of Hong Kong. A number of companies have the same format: that is a Chinese limited company listed on a stock exchange based in Hong Kong. This particular company name, though, has a different kind of background.

To understand why, we need to understand the difference between incorporation and listing. A company is incorporated in a place where it can be legal and valid. It cannot own assets outside the country. In some places, even if they are in the same country, they still need to incorporate in their country. For example, Japan requires corporations to register under the Japanese law if they want to engage in foreign activities.

In contrast, a company can issue its shares to individuals, corporations, or institutional investors like mutual funds, pension funds, etc. To raise capital through investment. There is a listing on a stock exchange which acts as a repository of the stocks, and a trading market where the stocks are traded. Stock exchanges have different listing requirements based on the type of investor. For instance, a company that lists itself on the stock exchange needs to satisfy the rules set by the exchange, eg the quality of their financial records, etc. Once a company is listed, it is listed at the stock exchange, where the trading happens. This means that it can sell its shares to investors, and a person who owns a fraction of the shares can buy shares from the company and then sell them again.

AtlasVPN is a U.S.based company and they are based in the United States.

They will not be able to offer any legal recourse for copyright infringement. Now, does that make them innocent? No. As for the ownership issue, there's no way to know for sure until you get to the bottom of this. Just because a site has a registered name, does not mean it's owned by that registered name. It could simply be a case of them trying to cash in on the idea.

A lot of "shell companies" are registered with the United States Department of State for tax purposes only, but they could have a registered address that is in another country and thus is not subject to American laws. Well, there is a forum dedicated to the Atlas VPN and I have seen several people post in that forum, so I know there is some sort of owner. The forum title states that the owner is Atlas VPN, but the owner could be Atlas VPN or maybe just one member of the forum. I don't think anyone here knows who the owner is or can say for sure.
