Can parents use Family Link on Android?

Does Family Link work cross platform?

Does it work when your family is in the US but you are in Canada?

I am a US Citizen and my wife is in Canada. Can I use Family Link on the Apple iOS, Mac & iPad or only the PC or Mac? I assume if she uses Family Link to transfer the data it will stay synchronized on the device in question since it is the same OS as the linked one? Is this assumption correct?

It doesn't "match up" - ie it won't auto import things from Facebook etc - but it'll copy some stuff. We have had good results with it (the first version, before they split from Google), so we'd recommend it to be worth a try. You can get a free trial from their website.

Family Link works across all mobile platforms, both iOS and Android. I do a lot of international travel as well and it's worked flawlessly for me.

So you need to use google services that sync across platforms? My understanding from reading the comments and articles is that the main thing needed is Google accounts set up on all devices, which can be done by signing into Gmail. So what are the technical challenges I need to deal with that a free cloud service, like DropBox or Amazon would address? Do all my devices need to use Gmail accounts? How would this handle email access over email as my devices don't have a way to send/receive email directly? (Can be easily bypassed of course but the thought of using an email account that doesn't work if my device loses power, is a hurdle I'd like to avoid) All the syncing of personal data from all devices would be via a Gmail account I'd guess? What about backup as in backing up files locally to the cloud? Would I be backing up all the files of a whole laptop rather than just one application? How should I think of doing this without being bogged down with Google accounts that don't work at all offline? I guess the solution would be to make sure all data and other info is backed up regularly but then wouldn't the backup file size balloon if there were to be a lot of different items stored? The answer, it seems is to create a system where you add a small amount of data every day, probably using a password to protect it and just copy the information every day manually?

Can I control my child's iPhone from my Android?

I have had my Android for almost a year now, but I only have my husband's iPhone 4S (16GB) with me right now. I would love to get my own iPhone 4S.

Can my iPhone be connected to my Android? So, I can control it from my phone. It's not for just one thing or just texting, but just general things. Just like how my phone gets on the WiFi and gets Internet. Is there any apps that can do this?

Also, if you can't help, then please tell me which app or anything is needed for this, so that I can get something that I want and use it. I'm sorry for being so annoying, but I have tried asking this question already. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: I was not using WiFi when I wrote the question. I meant Bluetooth.

Can parents use Family Link on Android?

There is a lot of confusion about the Family Health Information Service on the Android app.

This is not only the confusion between Google and Amazon App Store, but the confusion between Family Link and Family Doctor. The good news is that the confusion ends up being very easy to solve. But first let's review some of the details.

A Family Doctor is a person with a patient file in their name, the family doctor also provides their patients with information about chronic conditions, family history of diseases, and other medical information to help them manage their health and understand their risk factors. Family Link is the service provided by the Australian Government to help with this. It works with Family Doctors and patients, so it has the potential to save lives. Family Link on Android is now free in the Google Play Store. This is available in Australia on the Google Play store.

With Family Link you can search for your family doctor and find the health record they have, you can then send them health information that you upload and they can provide that information directly to your doctors. They can also share information with your family members that are enrolled with Family Link.

I have tested the Android app at various times and as it works, so I am going to describe how you can make use of this amazing service. If you have any other issues please leave a comment below.

You will be asked to login or create an account in order to sign up for Family Link. If you have an existing account you will be able to log in. Just select your account and it will get you where you want to go.

The Family Docs is the default setting. You will get all your doctors listed when you first log in. Selecting a Family Doc will then be listed as the default. You can then edit the list if you would like.

If you do not want to use a family doctor you can just tap cancel and sign up for Family Practice. The next thing you will see is the dashboard. The dashboard is your control panel for your Family Link account. You will see a picture of your Family Doctor which you can then select. You will then be able to manage what information you would like to provide your Family Doctor, if you can, with the pictures of your doctor.
