What locations are free with Windscribe?
What is Windscribe?
Windscribe has the fastest VPN, built for privacy and security. Our team of experts regularly update its core algorithms to stay ahead of criminals' and governments' best efforts to keep online activities private. You'll know when you're connected to Windscribe's VPN because we color code traffic to match location; for example, your activity at home shows green traffic while you're away at the movies shows blue traffic. Use it in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, China and so on. No more guessing where you are.
How does Windscribe work? You connect through its free Chrome app to either one of six major VPN servers across North America, Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa, depending on what you're doing. When you use Windscribe, the apps change your IP address to mask your real location and to the specific geographic location of the VPN server you're connected to. But we don't save your location history. So, no trackers will see where you've been. We never log your data.
How do I get Windscribe? You need a smartphone or a PC with some type of Chrome browser to install this VPN. Once it's installed, visit windscribe.com to download and install our extension.
Then, sign into your account and click Connect. Connect To Download. Windscribe Is Free. Windscribe has the fastest VPN. If that's the VPN you're searching for, you won't find a better value anywhere else. The only way to get it is through Windscribe's free, ad-supported service, Windscribe Pro VPN.
In exchange for using the service, we ask that you share your feedback and let us know what you think of our service. Windscribe is fast. So fast, that there's really only one speed to talk about: how fast is it? That's difficult to measure. But by downloading the Windscribe Chrome extension, as well as installing the corresponding VPN app for iOS, Windows, Mac or Android, you'll be able to confirm whether or not you see speeds on par with or faster than your internet connection speed.
What locations does Windscribe have?
Windscribe's global network of servers delivers fast, reliable, and unlimited internet to more than 10 million customers, serving more than 350 countries.
Customers can choose from our free service tier, Premium packages with varying speeds, or Unlimited package plans.
Our free service package includes 1Gbps (1G) download speed and 1G upload speed, while our premium packages start at 1Gbps with 3G upload speed and 9Mbps download speed. Our Unlimited package plans have download speeds of between 1 and 24Mbps and upload speeds of 3Gbps.
Windscribe customers get a free and secure VPN with unlimited bandwidth across all servers around the world. These servers allow customers to surf the web securely while protecting their identity online by encrypting their traffic.
Why do I need a VPN? The term VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It is used to create a secure tunnel through which you can access the internet without being detected. VPNs work by establishing a secure connection with a trusted third-party, usually a company with dedicated servers located all over the world. Once your data travels through the tunnel, it will be rerouted from your internet provider's network, back to the company that owns the servers that you connected to.
If your VPN provider logs your activity, this will give them the information they need to block you, should you be caught. Logging isn't just limited to websites, but also your Internet Service Provider's DNS settings, which are used to map your IP address to a specific website. If you use the same DNS server as a bunch of people, like Netflix or Facebook, then you will all be routed through the same VPN server, giving the VPN company access to all of your traffic.
It's like buying a car, but instead of your own driving license, your credit card will be the ticket. Just because you pay for the insurance doesn't mean you own the car. While your provider may protect your data, they are not your keeper.
Who runs Windscribe? We are a private and independently-owned business based in the Netherlands, with no political affiliations. Our management, development, and customer support teams are all based in different countries, which we use to minimize the amount of power we have over our users.
Does Windscribe have P2P?
Is it possible to download the software from windscribe and if so can you tell me how it works?
I'd rather not go to the trouble of torrenting if it isn't working, since I have a small connection (about 150mb/s). I downloaded the Windows version here: It's only a trial version, but it works fine for me. Thanks Chris! Ok this may be a stupid question but can I install this on a windows 8.1 PC with 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 980m? I have a friend who is interested in getting a new router or switching his broadband over to a wireless hub, I'm guessing it will only work if you connect directly to the router but is it possible to use it like a p2p downloader? Thanks a lot for your help! You really know what you're doing. I've just updated my windows installation via the windscribe link and I'm impressed with how the installer works.
How do I find out which IP address belongs to my broadband account? Or is that not needed for the software to download the software? I couldn't find anything when I googled it, just some people who bought routers online. On the Windscribe homepage there's a big green button labelled 'Test Windscribe'. Once you press it, it takes just a few seconds to find all the devices on the network (I was on a busy university network) and they list the IP addresses for them in an easy to understand way. Also there's a window which displays that info in case you want to view it.
Thanks for the tip bak! Now, will I be able to make sure it doesn't download when I'm not connected to the internet? When I tried it on my computer it kept trying to update the registry.
