Published:09 Jul 2025. Views:24. What is a ScraperMachine? What do I need one? In this video, I show you the simple maintenance and use of a scrapers (scraper machine) and what it can do for you. The scraping process will help you take out weeds and grass that are very dense, such as in parking lots, drive ways, medians, or sidewalks. This process can also be used for hacking concrete, asphalt and breaking through asphalt. One of the things with a scraper is that I should point out is that it is great for those hard to reach areas, then you can spot an area, get out, push your scraper, and weed and pave and walk away.
This is not a regular lawn mower. This is for landscapers and people who have paved lots and driveways and sidewalks. The cost and size depends on the price, quality and features of the machine. A smaller light weight scraper will not do as good of a job as a larger weight scraper.
The benefits of a scraper include but are not limited to: Weed and Grub Control. Easier to use than a spade. High quality trimming with no ruts. Less difficult to walk on than a traditional mower. No chemicals, no gas, no noise. Can be used in all types of weather. Allows you to walk on the grass instead of riding a tractor. The cost of the machine, installation, and initial cost can be expensive. But if you have a lot of grass and want to completely remove it, then a scraper is your best option.
How does metal scraping work?
Scraping works by using a wire brush or some other type of abrasive-resistant wheel to rotate at high speed while the piece is pressed into a grinding block.
The grinding force is typically applied by using a hand-held grinder, and sometimes with an air-powered hammer.
See (2:44) for a video demonstration. The scraping process helps to remove surface oxidation. Oxidation forms the dark patina that many metals acquire. It's the same process that occurs on your silverware and coins when they tarnish.
This is particularly important in metal foundries where the metal may be molten as it goes through the shaping process. When the metal comes out of the furnace, it cools quickly. That's because of the heat that melts it, and the oxygen that makes the metal oxidize when it cools. Therefore, metal scraped in this process will often look very shiny. If you can, avoid using an abrasive wheel if possible. Otherwise, be prepared to deal with the mess.
The main advantages of scraping are: It removes surface oxidation;. It reduces the chance of introducing any significant amounts of foreign material into the metal as it goes into the forming process;. It allows more uniform thicknesses for most metals.
What is a Biax scraper?
Biax scrapers are a device with the ability to take away dirt and stains left by conventional roll-on window scraper machines.
By comparison to such machines, Biax Scrapers offer superior removal capability, cleaning power and an innovative technology. Moreover, Biax roll-on window scraper machines are more comfortable to handle and use than other types of window scraping devices. In addition to this, the unit offers an easy replacement for a conventional roll on window scraper machine and is more user-friendly to clean off dirt and spills from windows.
When Is a Window Scraper Needed? In homes, businesses, and government offices there are often times when it is recommended to use a Window Scraper. The reason why this happens is the amount of dirt that accumulates around the window sills and above windows is too much for other type window scrapers to easily remove. For example, sometimes if someone spills a drink on a window sill while cleaning the sill the spill may be left behind without getting wiped or removed. Similarly, during a hard downpour, rainwater may collect on the windows over night. Once the downpour subsides, the windows can become extremely dirty and can be almost impossible to remove with a regular window scraper.
The first step in having a Window Scraper installed is to have a qualified technician measure the current condition of your windows. At that point, if possible we are able to show you a variety of options available for a suitable solution. Some of the most common methods used for dealing with these scenarios are:
Rinsing with a garden hose. Raking up dust and dirt from windows using a garden rake. Scrubbing down with a sponge or sponge brush. While each of these options can work effectively, we recommend installing a Biax window scraper to get the best results.
