What is the easiest Linux proxy?
I am new to Linux and I was wondering which is the easiest, most secure and most powerful proxy server you could recommend to me. I was going to use Tor and just use it for browsing the web, but I want it to also have other features like FTP, web development (CMS), SSH etc. Also, is it possible to install Tor on Windows? Or do you recommend another proxy server? Thanks in advance. T
Free Internet Access Proxy is another good one. It is a Linux proxy server that provides a free public proxy server access and downloads. The Free Internet Access Proxy provides both text and binary modes for data transfers.
you can use any of the popular free and open source proxy servers as mentioned in the link. However, the recommended one is FreeInternetAccessProxy, as suggested by some members here.

Re: What is the easiest Linux proxy? Fri Jan 24, 2023 2:34 pm. Hello T. Thank you very much for the answer. The link you gave me is just a list of those free servers. I was wondering if it is possible to set up a specific proxy server with those functions and how can I configure them.
Can you please tell me if it is possible to create a proxy server with them. Fri Jan 24, 2023 3:19 pm. S0r7y. Joined: 27 Aug 2023. Posts: 5930. Location: Sweden. I've had good results with squid. It does have a bit of config involved though, and you have to have it up and running before you start surfing with it.
Just make sure that you don't put all your data on the proxy server. Have it run on a separate box, and only set up a port forward to it.
