Why is my Digital Wellbeing not working?
Do I need to do something first?
I'm having some trouble with Digital Wellbeing and my phone has been giving me a headache recently. For example I have had it on for an hour before and I still cannot see the 'all messages' or any of the 'saved/replayed' lists. My phone seems to be having an attack of the vapours as the apps for well being don't seem to be working at all now! Is this a problem that just comes from time or is there a procedure I need to follow, for example deleting apps first, or something like that? Many thanks for any help/suggestions.
I have no idea how to get the App List up to date because the list doesn't show any apps. Have you looked here? If you have been using Digital Wellbeing for a while then just delete the app and redo the steps to re download it.
Thanks again for your help. Is there anywhere on the forum that has links to helpful sites etc, that I can look at
I tried your link to the tutorial but it didn't work for me. (I don't know if the information is still relevant or not).
For my case, I was wondering whether the phone is on the verge of a virus. There seems to be one going around, and I would like to get it checked out before it has really taken hold. I have had Windows Defender installed, but there doesn't seem to be an option to view what it has detected (or hasn't?) so am very unsure where to start.
Is it safe to remove Digital Wellbeing?
All the ways Google says you should spend your time, and whether you really want to

You can't open more than one app at a time on a phone these days, you won't be able to view Netflix (but it will stream fine) and the likes of Facebook and Twitter aren't going to play nicely, unless you happen to be logged into them when you open Google Maps. If you ever want to watch something, there's a good chance that Google will have you watching whatever is on that TV show instead. This week Google announced that it was killing off Digital Wellbeing in iOS. A year ago, the company showed off its biggest announcement yet: AI that would monitor and report on how much of your day you were spending on apps. How much? How about 70 per cent of your waking life?
Google knows, you spent most of your time staring at a screen. Or do you just forget about your phone while you're out and about like your smartphone is the new face scarf and you forget it's there like it's not? It's like this thing - what will be left to talk about five years from now? I don't know why people are spending more and more time looking at screens. The screen has made such a big impact, right? - Elon Musk
It seems ridiculous to be surprised that our devices are being turned against us but if it comes as a shock we are simply too complacent and accepting of an ecosystem where every day more screens become mandatory then everything is alright in Googleland. It's all for our benefit, after all.
The Digital Wellbeing interface is gone. The new Google Home Hub has been replaced by an option called smart display. To use it you'll have to log into your Google account with your phone and grant the device access to all the info it needs. Once you do it's easy enough to use on a wall in your home to bring up notifications and the like.
