How do you unblock sites on a school Chromebook?
The biggest complaint over the last year or two when it comes to using a Chromebook is that you can't use blocked websites or apps. Instead, Chrome OS forces you to use the built-in chrome browser. Fortunately, there are ways around this, but it's definitely something to keep in mind.
These days schools are migrating to Chromebooks and you'd be amazed at how many students don't get around to changing their default browser to a browser other than Chrome. This is a great advantage for the Chrome OS as well. The initial setup is fast and easy, and the UI is great. However, sometimes you find yourself in a situation where you need to use a different browser on your Chromebook that you have to unblock sites.
I've put together the instructions below that will allow you to make this a reality in minutes. As always, the steps below will only work if you are using a Google Chromebook of course. It's just as easy to do the same thing if you are using a Microsoft Surface or a Dell PC.
Step #1 - Make sure that you have all the right permissions. You will need to make sure that you have certain permissions in order to proceed. First, you should make sure that you have administrator access. This is usually just a Google account that is associated with your Chromebook and your Google for Education Settings.
If you aren't logged into your Google account, you'll need to open a new one that's associated with your Chromebook. Once you have administrator access, you'll need to make sure that Apps and Uninstall Apps are enabled. How do I unblock a website blocked by administrator?
I've tried to search many places but couldn't find a solution. So I'll ask it here: Do you know any WordPress plugins or some easy-to-implement methods to allow me to visit all the content on websites for which I've been blocked by an administrator? Thanks in advance. You need to contact the web admin in order to unblock your IP address, and explain the situation. You don't have permission to sites outside of the network.
See: Also see: You have no right to request access to other websites, no matter how legitimately you feel you have a need. It's not your decision, it's the (potential) owner's decision.
It's possible that the site you are trying to visit requires registration. If the site is private (not free), then the webmaster can simply ask you to pay for access which can be done with no proof of your identity required (except if they decline this too).
