You need to download the latest version of openvpn. Then extract the openvpn-windows-latest folder and copy the contents to your desktop. There should be 2 files in the folder, openvpn.exe and openvpn.
Next we need to create a shortcut to openvpn.exe, so that it is easier to launch in the future. First go to your Desktop and right click, choose New and select Shortcut. When prompted for a name, give it a simple name like OpenVPN. Click on the location option and select Desktop. Then click Next.

This is the location that OpenVPN uses by default when it is not running, so you should be able to copy and paste this directly. If you do not know where %APPDATA% is, use Windows 7 to find out.
Click on Browse to open the folder for the shortcut. Find openvpn.conf in the openvpn-windows-latest folder and copy it to the folder you are creating the shortcut. Click OK and then Finish.
Now right click on the new shortcut and click properties. Click the Shortcut tab.
