How do I unblock websites on school VPN?

The school-provided VPN works great, but how do I unblock websites like Facebook, Twitter, and even our local newspaper when I'm at school? I have a PC in my room and my internet is provided by the school. I just want to use the internet at home.

Click on "Generate Access Code". This will automatically generate a 12 character key. It will open in a new window.

You will be taken back to the main page and you should see a "Successfully Generated Access Code" message. Click on the Unblock button to the right. The page should now display the name of the blocked website. If you are entering the correct key, the page should display the name of the website that you chose to unblock. You can click on the website name to go directly to that website.

What are some unblock websites?

I would like to know what are some of the unblock websites that we could access when our internet service is down. I am in a university and we are about to have an earthquake, so I wanted to be able to access the internet to know if the service is back on or not.

Many ISPs use NAT, and that means you don't get an external IP address when connecting from outside your network. A lot of services like port forwarding will use the same IP address, but it's a different subnet and you can't get to those services. They may be reachable over the local area network, depending on the router's configuration.

You need to get the external IP address first. Once you have the IP, you need to determine which service's port(s) you need to access, and what the IP address is. Check the logs at the ISP and find the most likely source IP. You may be able to get to those services, or you may have to set up a VPN.

As for the "unblock" aspect, most sites don't block external connections. They simply redirect to a default page, just as if you were inside their network. It might be possible to get to some sites with a web proxy. I'm not sure how those work, though.

On Windows, there is the built-in tool "netsh int ipv4 set address name="eth0" static". It can be run under the admin account and is a command line tool (command line interface) with no GUI. You need to run it as admin.

I agree with the above. This can work for finding out if a server is up or not, or finding out where a particular IP is coming from. However, there are a few things to consider:

First, some websites will try to hide their IP address by having a "dynamic" IP. They will randomly change their IP every few minutes. To identify this, you would need to do a traceroute on the website.
