Why is Stremio not working anymore?

Stremio is one of the best Free/Freemium streaming video platform that's currently available today. As such, why is it losing traction in a saturated market? Well, the sad reality is, Stremio was born in the era of smartphones and tablets, back in 2023, when these two devices have barely started to proliferate over the last two or three years. People hardly use these devices for streaming media: they still are far more interested in using the likes of YouTube and Netflix than on using a video app on their phones or tablets. This was the case at least when I started Stremio, so it has to be taken into consideration when developing the platform. The question we all ask ourselves, but few of us like answering, is what's next for Stremio? If you love our community, Stremio, or just would rather go back to what you're currently enjoying, we might have a few answers for you!

The Stremio Team have made Stremio available at and they even provided a FAQ section to answer all your questions: If you're wondering is Stremio still here?, the answer is YES, STREMIO IS STILL HERE, and we are doing what it takes to make it grow. Today, Stremio is a fully fledged platform for streamers; we've achieved great things already, but we are not going to stop trying to accomplish more! This doesn't mean we've forgotten about the normal user - with normal users, we really do mean the majority of Stremio's users - but that would be a question you need to ask them. But if it was YOU that was asking that question, then maybe it was because they weren't able to solve your problems, despite having spent several hundred hours building and maintaining Stremio. That said, some of the users who have been here from the beginning are quite vocal, and many have been saying "thank you, and telling us that you're still here!

What addons should I use for Stremio?

This list contains addons that are commonly used for streaming music or videos on Stremio. These addons may also be useful for listening to local media files from your computer. Addons are listed in order of importance.

Note: Due to the ever increasing amount of addons that are being developed for Stremio, it is not always possible to cover every addon out there. As a result we will not always be able to include all addons that work with Stremio and/or you will need to do some additional research to make sure that an addon works with Stremio before adding it to this list.
