How do I block websites on my Samsung Internet?

I have downloaded the latest Samsung Internet and enabled the option to block websites. Unfortunately, when I type in an address on a website, such as facebook.com, it does not take me to the page. It is just a blank page. I can't even get to the main page of the website.

How do I fix this? I am using Samsung Galaxy J5 2023. Please help! I don't know what to do! Check if you are using the correct address. If you are using it should take you to facebook.com/home.php. If it doesn't, you may want to try If that doesn't work either, check the browser settings.

If you still cannot get to the page, you can contact the website administrator and ask them to look into it. This is a discussion on ? within the Android News forums, part of the Android Forum category; I have downloaded the latest Samsung Internet and enabled the option to block websites. I hope you got this reply and resolved your problem. If it did not help you, you can go to your browser's web history and check whether the site was loaded in the past.

How do I permanently block a website on my phone?

I've been reading a lot of discussions on how to block a website from showing up on a cellphone, using ad blockers or other methods. I tried the steps that people suggested but to no avail. I have a T-Mobile G1 phone and I'm trying to block a website so I can't view it anymore.

The steps I've tried are: Set up an ad blocker. Added "*com" to the white list. Created a new profile. Changed the default browser. Set the Home screen (to the name of the site I want blocked). Unplugged the phone from the Internet. Changed the DNS server for the phone. I'm not sure what to try next. Any help would be appreciated.

I also tried to delete the website from my phone (so the webpage would not even load when I tried to access it) but it didn't work either. Set the Home screen (to the name of the site I want blocked). I also tried to delete the website from my phone (so the webpage would not even load when I tried to access it) but it didn't work either. A few years back I had a Droid, it was running a little version of Android and there was a tool you could download which I believe was called Dolfin. I don't know if that is still available or if it works on newer versions of Android.

Anyway, it was a tool which had some pretty cool features. You could add/delete websites from a blacklist or whitelist, and you could block websites from your default browser, or any app on your phone.

Well, if you're on a G1 phone, you may have better luck going to a Verizon store and getting them to remove the offending site from your account for you. It's very unlikely that any of the things I've listed above will work for your phone.

How do I permanently block websites on Android?

I use K9 browser on Android and I need to block certain websites, but after restarting my phone or rebooting it stops working and blocks some other sites too. I tried uninstalling the app but it doesn't help. I found a solution that says to use a file manager and add to the blacklist, but how do I do that without using a file manager? Thanks

The blacklist-blocker is intended for blocking ads and tracking cookies. To block ads try the free app Block Ads.

How do I block inappropriate websites?

In the past, I've been hesitant to use certain browser extensions that try to get in the way of you choosing what you see on the internet. I don't have a particular love for Facebook as an example. However, there are times where a particular website or even individual pages of a website are so bad that I cannot stand to look at it, and I'm willing to put up with the potential privacy implications to avoid visiting something I don't want to visit.

I used to avoid using Google analytics when I had my own websites because it would track my movements across the internet (though, it wasn't as bad as some of the analytics from the major players). I don't know about you, but that would make me uncomfortable. I'm not a stranger, I know there's probably a cookie somewhere that just says, If you visited this web page X times, we'll give you a cookie that lets you watch cat videos, but maybe I prefer the cat videos I find out there as opposed to what my friends share. Who knows. I also use uMatrix regularly to help me understand if I'm being tracked while browsing. It's a lot of work to manage this stuff manually, which is why I love browser extensions like these. I'm also a big fan of uMatrix's parent project, Privacy Badger, which adds a lot of functionality to uMatrix that makes it much more powerful.

A few things I didn't mention above: The most obvious use is to block ads that track you across the internet and websites that track your interests. I prefer to block these based on the type of connection I'm on, rather than on a specific site or individual domain. So, instead of letting a single ad network track my activities across multiple sites (even if I'm only viewing part of it), I will try to pick and choose individual ads that I trust. I generally block any ads with Tracking, Analytics, Advertising, or Social in the name. Some of these are better than others depending on the amount of traffic the ad network has.
