To share the connection, open the Settings app and go to the Wi-Fi and network section. Scroll down to Share my Internet and tap on it. Under Your device will be connected as select Wi-Fi hotspot. Below where you find the Wi-Fi network name, you will see a padlock icon. Tap on that padlock icon to enter a security code. This padlock is required to protect the connection. How can I make my Android more secure? Android devices provide some built-in security features for you to keep you and your data safe. Android has the two-step verification feature which enables you to have a second level of security to your Google account. Apps that require access to your sensitive information can be installed only once they have been verified by Google. Also, the Lock Screen App, a highly secured application, protects your device from unauthorized access. The following are some basic precautions you can take to secure your device:
Enable 2FA when requesting recovery to factory settings: Instead of entering a pattern to unlock your device, or a PIN, add an extra security step. In this method, if someone gains access to your account, they will have to verify their identity on a second device.
Never use your real email address and phone number when starting a new device. Consider using a disposable email address or nickname.
Restrict and type in passwords: Enable as many secure screens as possible, and long and complex passwords. These two items will help keep your account safe.
Use a strong password: A strong password should contain at least eight characters and be a mixture of uppercase, lowercase, and numbers and symbols. Don't share contacts or other sensitive data: Allowing apps to access your contacts is asking for someone else's email address.
Can I share VPN through hotspot?
Hi.e. I am learning VPN for my organization and this is the first time that I use VPN. I am able to set up a PPTP server on my computer. I can successfully connect from my server through VPN from to other LAN systems. However, I know I need to setup DHCP and DNS on my PC to be able to access all internet resource. How can I achieve this? In short, I want to connect my PC to a VPN server and then access internet.
One of these problems is you are looking at this from the wrong angle. You shouldn't think about it as trying to get to the internet over a VPN connection, as much as you should think about using a VPN to segregate your traffic to your company to obscure your IP to other parties, without leaving traces of you being connected to the Internet, even though your traffic is segmented.
You also need to figure out why you don't have control over your network, and what is preventing your desktop from connecting to everything in it. If it's not a Cisco device, you need ti set the IP address up properly. You'll probably find that Crossover's explanation is on the mark. You should also be able to connect to the Internet as well as your company intranet - in which case NAT is not required.
Usually it's quite easy to set peering between one Hyper-V cluster or Hyper-V within a cluster and another Hyper-V cluster. Now you need to open ports on the firewall so external traffic can connect to your client side network where your VPN is running. Make sure your PE is up and running. Make sure that Network Policies will allow traffic on the Vnet network interface of the virtual machines and that network access is allowed for the PE at the Security Group level.
If you are using Windows 8, Microsoft has removed by default PE from OS level network access control policies. To enable access to the PE you can go to Local Policies Audit Policy tab Default Domain Policy and ensure policy "Do not allow deleting of sysvol folders" is enabled.
I too am having many of the same issues using VPN technology to route traffic to the internet. To begin with, I didn't have control over the vpn server (Thintronics), until recently after about a week of setting up the VPN over PPTT.
