How do I turn off Google child restrictions?
I want to turn off the restrictions that Google has put on me in search and Gmail.
If I go to my account and click on "Turn off" on the bottom of the page, it doesn't work.
If you have a Google Apps account, you should be able to simply go to Settings > Account info, scroll to the bottom, and click on "Turn off" or "Turn on" under Google/Apps. If you are not using Google Apps, I don't think you have that option. If you do, you can also disable Google Now by going to Settings > Search > Manage search providers. Click on the cog to the right of the last search provider to disable Google Now.
Open Google Play Store and go to "My apps & games". Go to "Google play" and then "My account". Go to "Parental control". Click on "Manage". Click on "Turn Off". It's working for me. For those who want to disable the restriction to only having 4 apps on the home screen, and not having to download any apps: Go to Google play. Click on the app "Parental control". Select "Add new application". Select the category "Other". Select "App control". Add the app you want to allow for unlimited access, this is the default. Add another app you want to allow for unlimited access (the second app. Must be the same category as the one you added in step 1). Select "Enable". You're done!
How do I childproof Google search?
I keep on having to delete searches from my google account because they are all showing me child porn. They won't let me get rid of them. My kids go onto our PC and start browsing to see what they can find. I want to stop this but how? Help!
Re: How do I childproof Google search? I don't have a Google account - never used it until just now, when I was at work and noticed that "Google" is not just my name anymore, it's in quotes. No idea what happened or how that happened.
Thank you so much for your fast response! I got this problem yesterday and today and yesterday you were the only one with any ideas and today everyone else told me "how to go about it". So I'm really glad I found you. Now I have my account back to normal and I've deleted all the porn. Thanks so much, you are amazing! :)
If you do not want these sort of searches to be shown to your users, you'll have to change your account password. Please go to this site, log in to your Google account, then change your account password and you will be able to remove some of the unwanted searches. Once you've changed your password, please visit Google Webmaster Tools to submit a sitemap for your site.
If this doesn't solve the issue, please come back for more help. We are very knowledgeable and will be glad to help you.
How to Fix Child Porn Searches in Google Search. My brother has searched for porn for the past three years. There has never been anything that was too bad, except this time. He searched for "breast lift", and the first link he clicked was the porno website he had been looking for! Needless to say, his 13 year old son got access to a scary amount of porn which could potentially ruin their lives.
As of late, Google has been showing more images of child abuse pornography. And when you click one of these links, you get sent to another child porn website. And that website isn't always far away, it can be as close as the next person in line.
Is there a kids mode for Google?
I would like to find a kids mode for google.
I work with my three year old daughter every day. We have Google Reader on our iphone and ipad but I would like to have a kids mode or something where I could only allow her to see certain feeds or just turn off feeds. Is there anything like that?
Comments. There's no setting like that, but we did it on our iPhone by turning off all the feed options, clicking the refresh button, and then clicking "All Feeds". That way she can't go into the settings, but she doesn't have to know you're messing with her stuff.
There is a little control panel on the settings page where you can disable most of the feeds. For example, you can hide the feed subscriptions, which don't show up in the control panel.
I think the kids mode setting is still an option, but it's not there anymore. Okay, thanks. I'll try that out and let you know if it works for me.
When I was looking at the kids mode settings, I saw the option for children mode, but when I clicked it, it brought me to the same settings page I had come from before. I don't see any options under the children tab. There are only 5 options in total, and none of them are "child mode" related.
Do you see a setting that says "all feeds" on the control panel settings page? If so, you could set that as a feed option that you can turn off. You might also be able to just block certain feeds by going to the feeds page, clicking the refresh button, and turning off the feeds you want.
How do I set parental controls on Google?
It's easy!
I am the mother of two boys who are growing up with my help and guidance. With that in mind, here are tips on how to set parental controls on Google. If you have an iPhone or an Android phone then this page isn't applicable for you - although I guess it can be used in conjunction with Safari to control your kids' iPhones or Androids too. This is one of the best pages that I know of where they have taken the time to make the process as easy as possible. I just had a quick squiz on her page to see what she recommends (and I do agree) and it looks like she has a great system working!
Let me say that I am no Mother Superior, but she has some really useful links on how to find these settings, and also the most common things that she needs to check/change. Here is one example of a parental control setting that she mentioned: That shows that my boy is currently logged into Youtube, so that needs to be disabled - if we don't allow him to log into Youtube anymore than we'll get away with disabling these other settings for as long as we want too. She also mentions in that article that all your other Google services will disable when they reach 'parental controls' mode and so any settings that she didn't enable would probably also be gone.
If you're looking for some more information, then read on as I explain the top things that you should check / change.
How does Family Link work?
Family Link is the official online platform that links families who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) with available childcare subsidies. By connecting families directly to childcare providers and preschool programs in their county, this web-based platform gives all working and caring parents the opportunity to use federal funds that would otherwise be used for childcare, and help offset the costs of childcare while parents work.
The following information is designed to answer common questions about how Family Link works and what your responsibilities are in establishing a Family Link account. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the National Childcare Resource Center (NCRC) at What's the difference between TANF and Family Link? TANF is a temporary cash grant intended to provide assistance for income-eligible families with children. There is no guarantee of a future cash payment when families receive TANF. Instead, they are expected to use it to pay for basic needs. Families with access to jobs can also keep the TANF for a few months and make plans to get off the program. The state provides more detail on TANF eligibility, benefits, and how it works at
In contrast, Family Link is a new online service that allows families to apply for childcare subsidies through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. Family Link uses the technology that is already in place for the electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card system to connect families with childcare providers and preschools through an innovative online connection between families and childcare providers. When accessing Family Link, families create a separate account for their household. Families can then choose from a list of providers in their area. As part of the process, providers are able to search for eligible families to match. Then, once both parties agree to a provider, Family Link creates a user record that includes their address, phone number, family size, payment options, and more.
Families will need to set up their accounts in order to search for and contact providers. Learn more about how the system works.
What's the difference between providers and programs? A provider is a family licensed or permitted by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services to work with individual families in a Family Link-approved program.
