How do I hard refresh Safari on my iPhone?
I have an iPhone that sometimes I can't even open.
It's completely unresponsive and I can't get any message of what is wrong. Sometimes this happens when I am trying to open safari but it will not open or sometimes it opens but it's laggy so it takes about 5 seconds to open and then every minute or two I get the spinning wheel of death so I have to hard reboot it. It's never happened at other times. Any idea what is going on? I recently upgraded to iOS 8.1. Thank you!

How do I get my Safari back to normal on my iPhone?
I tried installing the app but it didn't work. We know it's frustrating when you have a problem with your iPhone and you can't do anything about it. Luckily, there are some easy solutions that you can try before you take the phone to a shop or call Apple Care. There are many common causes of problems like iOS freezing, apps crashing and more which you can address easily without any tech knowledge. Scroll down to the end to find out how to get your iPhone back to normal in no time!
First of all, reboot. If this happens to you once, that's probably just a random problem and one that is easily solved by a simple reboot. However, if this keeps happening (or even worse happening more than once) and you are really at your wit's end because the issue only happens when you open any kind of app or even the lock screen, it's possible that your iPhone might be having a genuine software problem which should be addressed as soon as possible.
A good idea to try first is to reboot your device. The reason you might need to force quit your iPhone instead of rebooting the device is because your phone might be having some hardware issues that needs to be resolved first. Restarting will simply clear out all the temporary files and make sure that all the necessary software and apps are running and synced.
The second thing that you should do is to open the Settings app and clear out any caches, cookies and temporary data that you have downloaded or collected during the usage of the device. This will ensure that the issue does not persist because of any stored data or cached data.
If you are comfortable with some degree of technical understanding, you could try a hard reset. It's important to remember that whenever you perform a hard reset, all the data on your iPhone will be erased. After your device is restarted, it will be completely lost and it might be a lot easier to have to repurchase a new iPhone. It's however best to check with your carrier or Apple support to make sure that it's okay for you to perform a hard reset.
What should you do if the reboot method doesn't work?
