Where can I get a VPN account?
I'm just wondering where one could purchase a VPN and have it forwarded to their desk top computer, regardless of the corporate network configuration on said computer. A friend was curious what was going on and there are some private networks we have to use as one is a school internet connection, but the other is decent, but not what we want so a quick and easy alternative for his home PC is what we would love to have.
That is to say, we need one that will utilize a common gateway/proxy server between them. My guess is that even if you're at an internet cafe or shopping mall WiFi location they're usually capable of doing that, or if your on the go in various countries, being able to access the internet through a VPN is priceless.
The only other real way is if you could think of a way to have your own server set up a small home office VPN for your internet connection. However this seems expensive without doing any research on how hard or difficult it would be to set up with little to no directions.
Think I just partially answered my own question, our IT director does have a business account on a free service, we've used that before when we needed to send some sensitive data to her as we couldn't fire up another machine that had full control of it so we could have access. Is there anyone out there that has done this before? Any advice or resources? Purchasing the VPN service is double edged, sometimes it may be too restrictive. It depends on the country you travel to. In my opinion, you should look for a VPN that does not require user registration and logins before connecting, because it can be cumbersome to do that when there is no internet connection when you go on the road. Also, please remember that many services require additional software to be installed on your computer (sometimes it causes unnecessary delays).
Also, you need to check the customer support level of the services you are considering purchasing. Sometimes you can obtain extra features and higher pricing by calling customer service.
How do I create a VPN username and password?
(L2TP VPN)
After completing the necessary configuration steps in this tutorial, you will be able to send voice and data traffic over a L2TP/IPsec VPN connection. To access the options to configure your Expressway call router's VPN on its L2TP/IPSEC network configuration page, use the IP address of your router-router's local IP address if it is directly connected to your computer. For example, use either 192.168.13 or 192.15. Alternatively, follow the instructions provided below for configuring your Expressway as a VPN client.
Select Virtual Private Network (VPN) from the menu on the Expressway web page and click on the Enable settings button. Enter the User Name and Password for your Expressway Interconnect in the "User Name" and "Password" boxes. Click on the Continue button, the expresswayjob.exe application will be launched.
Click on the "VPN Client Settings" tab: In order to access the internet through the VPN tunnel when at home, your network has to understand that the IP address of your home router is really the IP address of your home gateway. Therefore you have to enter the IP address of your home gateway in the Specify Internet address and Subnet mask box.
How can I get a free VPN account?
I'm eager to download and try Wirex on my desktop, but do not know if it's safe. I also want to learn how to start a business with PayPal and other small business ventures. I read an article that said it was possible to do in the United States only. Thank you so much for your help!
My husband and I actually used Wirex for just this purpose. We used their app on our phones and created a paper wallet that we kept at my parents house. It was really easy to setup, and once it was linked to our bank accounts we used it to transfer money around. I did find that when you do the bill payments you have to pay on the phone, so be sure to check with your bank to make sure they will let you do that.
If you want to use it to make BitCoin transfers, then you'll have to download a desktop app (there are a few). They have a great user interface and are relatively straightforward. What's cool too is you don't need any sort of login info, just to install the app. I'm assuming that if you want to keep your privacy you should steer clear of these apps.
Thanks for the suggestions. I have done the Android app and it is easy to use. How does one go from there to the desktop app? I have an iPad and my Android Phone. Is all of this easy to do on those devices?
As far as the BitCoin goes, so far I have just used Uphold, which is the online Wallet provider. I have been following some Bitcoin tutorials. I also emailed some one to set up a PayPal account. So far so good.
I have a budget for my first year, Feb 2023 to Jan 2023. If there are any other ideas you think I should add to my list, please share.
Your "paypal" and "uphold" info is available to anyone who has access to your wirex account. As long as your credit card is valid, anyone can have access to those details. If you had a paper wallet on your phone they could still see it, and if you were to transfer money through wirex or bank transfer, they could follow the funds and know where it was going and what it was for. Yes, everything is transferable, but security is always your friend.
What is the password for VPNBook?
I know the Login Prompt has a long string of octets to enter without easily guessing it, but what is the actual password?
Not sure what you mean by "log in with" - the password is the one you use to login, regardless of what device, whether you're at home or work or your friends house, etc. ? I made an attempt but was not able to figure out how to login via the address bar (think md5)? Maybe I should have clarified that. I mean on my iPhone. So for example if Apple's MD5 hash is ke8nankopwd2AXT0j then I would want to be typing in malladdotinsteaksecuF? That doesn't seem that easy to guess.
Are you using a personal or business/paid account? They won't give you a choice. (Caveats are there are rouge apps around that may fudge your login credentials to someone else's AppleID and now you have root to everyones' iCloud. To a lesser extent, there were viruses that could authenticate to anyone's AppleID also, you just needed code that was normally behind a router).
I have a big issue with Apple thinking there is one way to be in the AppStore, one way to sign in, one way to sign up. I think it's fair to say there are at least eight different ways to do each of these things (these four methods are app-specific but I got tired of typing): None of these methods are inherently secure. But it was good enough. Several of these methods are insecure. Therefore we still use them.3. Now we strip our passwords out to protect some sensitive information - perhaps even from engineers//accountants//etc.
