How can I bypass blocked sites without VPN and proxy?
I've seen people using proxies and VPNs to bypass the internet restrictions in China. However, I wonder how can I bypass blocked sites without using a VPN or proxy? You can't. Blocked sites are blocked by the Chinese government. There is no way to circumvent that.
The answer is simple: you can't. China has always been a closed country, and it's not going to change in the near future. It's also not going to change in the near future because it's not going to change.
The Great Firewall of China is a fact. It's a simple fact that the Chinese government cannot be fooled. The Chinese government cannot be bribed. The Chinese government cannot be overthrown. The Chinese government cannot be captured. The Chinese government cannot be made to change. The Chinese government cannot be stopped.
If the Chinese government decides to change something, they do it. If they determine that a particular act is something they do not care for, they will stop it.
It's a closed country. It's a closed country that's been around for thousands of years. It's closed country that doesn't want to change. It's closed country that will not be changed by a handful of people on the internet.
There is no way to circumvent the Great Firewall of China, as there is no way to circumvent the Great Firewall of China. You can't get around the Great Firewall of China. It is a fact. It is not an opinion. It is not a statement of faith.
It is a fact that no one can get past. It is a fact that no one can get into. It is a fact that no one can get out of.
It is a fact that no one can influence. It is a fact that no one can stop.
It is a fact that no one can break. It is a fact that no one can make a dent in.
In short, the Great Firewall of China is a fact. There is no way to get around the Great Firewall of China. There is no way out of the Great Firewall of China. There is no way in the Great Firewall of China.

Fox 3.1 Best answer. Only with version 3.1 of VPN you need to be a root user, and in that case it would be highly recommended to install it only for testing purposes.

It provided the user to download any app or adjust configuration 3 From: Also there's this thread that shows other methods/approaches to download a Ubuntu Live CD. In any case, downloading via torrent is very slow, but after diving into how they do it, spotting the 4 main (extracting, unzipping, mounting, executing) steps, I wouldn't want to miss any of them. The only problem is, the guide doesn work properly on a 32GB USB, so much for torrenting.
TL;DR: If you're planning to see what Ubuntu is about, it's much better torrent a real-live CD and salty even better if it's not a 13.10 version, but 12.04, you'll have everything working. For more info, look at the threads linked above and NZTF's site linked above. ~ is for special characters I use in this answer.
Which browser is best for blocked sites?
I'm looking for information regarding browser security and blocking. We have a few sites that are blocked (ie public safety, government sites) on a home network without a proxy. We use Firefox on a Mac. What is the best way to block sites? I have heard of the "security exception" using the "chrome://safebrowsing/content/siteWhiteList.xhtml". But, this seems impossible to configure for a Mac. Any ideas?
There are many, many plugins for firefox that will block sites, some automatically. There are also plugins for chrome and Safari.e. With that said, you can also use a parent proxy. As for your question, is what I just wrote it?
The will work fine for most sites, and is the easiest. (If really necessary, you can use a proxy). The does have a couple of limitations: it can be configured to not show the "security exception" error page for sites like Wikipedia. Also with, you can't do things like used the page title to find something, which you can do with the does not show the favicon properly.
I think some of the browser plugins (IE, Chrome, etc) have a feature where they'll show a list of the sites that they think are unsafe (eg, phishing sites) and a button to "allow" them. AFAIK, this just allows the user to decide whether they want to allow each site to get through to their machine.

How do I unblock a website without a VPN?
I am new to this and have just found out how to use PeerGuardian on Windows. I have managed to make PeerGuardian to unblock websites but I would like to know how to do the same as the ones that are already unblocked.
PeerGuardian unblocks the websites using "Sinkhole". The website is blocked because the IP address of the website is that of PeerGuardian. Even if I try to find the IP address of the website or its host I cannot find out. I have tried to use the program called "Substitute" to unblock my IP address but it does not work.
There is no such thing as an unblocked site. You're blocking the website, not the IP address of the website. That's what I'm trying to get you to understand.
You mention a website "The Washington Post" and you say "I tried to find the IP Address of the website or its host but I cannot find out. " How about we just back up a step and say that you have "The Washington Post" blocked and you are trying to find the IP Address of "The Washington Post"? If you are trying to unblock a website, you should probably be using a VPN, but PeerGuardian will do the same basic function. You might have better luck with Substitute. But I have to warn you, it can be a little tricky to use. I think you will have to go to the website you want to unblock, click "Substitute" and set the IP address, then click "Substitute" again to get PeerGuardian to work.
Thanks. I have managed to unblock "The Washington Post" and I have managed to unblock a website called "g2". The problem is that I cannot unblock any other website. I have tried to unblock "Apple" but it does not show any result. I have tried using "Substitute" but that does not work. I have tried to unblock other websites using PeerGuardian but they all seem to be blocked. I have tried unblocking the websites using "Substitute" but nothing happens.
The Washington Post website is blocked because it uses the IP address of PeerGuardian.
Will any of these methods allow me to access blocked websites at school?
I was just about to ask that very same thing. I had to go through the same thing when I was at school. What I did, was download a proxy tool on my PC and let my browser use it through my school wifi.e. I don't know if that'll work for you, but it was the only thing that I could think of at the time. The main reason I did this is because I had some sites that I wanted to browse at school, but I couldn't do it because my school network was blocked. The main thing to do to resolve this was to download a browser proxy tool.
I know that this doesn't really answer your question, but it's all I could think of.
