Does VPN work on Netflix mobile?
By
I got a Samsung GALAXY S6 edge and I heard Netflix and VPN work on it.
but I can't get the VPN to work on my Netflix and I don't know if I can stream my TV shows on it. If anyone knows please help?
Re: VPN works on Netflix mobile? I have a T-mobile plan and can't get netflix from mobile. I tried to do a trial of HBO Now, but after I went into my settings, it showed that I was "No" on any service, or device.
I am now trying to stream to my chromecast dvr. This time it is telling me I am not connected when it is clearly connected.
Also just an FYI, if you put a static ip and port into the network setting area, it connects. I guess I will try that later when I get back home.
The new android app for netflix is working on my s6 edge. However, I do not see anything related to VPN in the android app or web version of netflix. When I search for netflix from the search engine in chrome web browser, I get the following website:
Also, when I open the settings of chrome browser, there is no "Connection Information". Please advise.
If I go to the network setting on the android app, it shows me "Connected to a corporate network", and "Connected over Wi-Fi". I just want to check the VPN settings so I am not connected over wifi (because if I have to connect everytime using the wifi network, that would suck).
The other option that's available is, to setup a static IP and DNS (or use OpenDNS) through the WiFi settings (for the IP of your WiFi router). In that case, you do not need to do anything, it's the default. The reason why it says connected to your mobile when you've set a static IP, is it uses a DHCP (dynamic IP address) automatically.
I know it's confusing, I'm sorry for any inconvenience. My wifi is actually a 2.4ghz ac (home wifi).
Why does VPN not work on Netflix app?
I have connected to my VPN on my Windows PC at work using the built in VPN server software.
I connect to it whenever I log into my work computer. I can see it is connected, I can see it is associated with the computer I'm on (since the IP address that says connected is from my home) and the "connected" indicator is blue when I switch to the built in VPN. However, none of the network settings for my VPN works on my work computer. I can't configure any advanced network settings such as the number of connections or static/DNS IP. If I leave the VPN connection up while logging into my computer then I get connected as expected. This is an ongoing problem. Is there a Windows app that will run a program automatically once the VPN service is installed and the app is closed? I'd rather not deal with manually configuring each connection. Thanks in advance!
This sounds like it may because the VPN was installed when you were connected to a work network, and Netflix may not trust the VPN on a network which isn't work. Try connecting again and disconnecting your work network.
Is Netflix blocking ExpressVPN?
Yes, but it's a different story for each account.
We have no evidence that Netflix is intentionally blocking us, but they have been blocking users since February 2026. In this article, we will show you how to bypass Netflix blocking of ExpressVPN and connect to the internet with total freedom.
If you're trying to access Netflix from outside the United States, then you will need to use a VPN service that provides a US-based IP address to hide your identity and make sure you are not blocked by Netflix. ExpressVPN offers a lot of free features and it's easy to sign up, but if you want to be able to access Netflix from abroad, then you will need to upgrade to a premium account. What is Netflix blocking? The first thing that you need to know about this issue is that it's not a general VPN blocking issue. It's just that ExpressVPN users have reported issues connecting to Netflix.
I can confirm that my Netflix account is still working, but it's hard to say whether ExpressVPN is to blame or not. It may be a coincidence that we started experiencing issues on the same day that ExpressVPN announced a new feature called Stream on Any Device. This feature makes it possible for you to stream content from Netflix from your desktop, mobile phone, or even an Apple TV.
If you use the Stream on Any Device feature, then you will be able to watch Netflix from anywhere on the globe. The most common reason for ExpressVPN users to experience problems connecting to Netflix is that their country's IP address is incorrectly detected by Netflix. This happens because you are using ExpressVPN with a non-US IP address.
Why ? This isn't an easy question to answer, but we have received some theories. The most obvious explanation is that Netflix is doing this as a punishment to ExpressVPN. It may also be that ExpressVPN is not yet a direct competitor of Netflix. That is, Netflix is still the best streaming service, and ExpressVPN is still in beta.
Another possibility is that Netflix is doing this as a preemptive strike against VPN services.
Why is Netflix blocking VPN?
Netflix, which provides its members with a large selection of films and television series, was recently reported to have made a decision to block VPN in the wake of recent government action, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
We are very concerned about this action and strongly urge that you reverse it. There are three main reasons why: 1) By blocking users from accessing other country's VPN networks you are essentially locking us out of many popular programs and services. 2) When a government agency requests information about our subscribers, we may be forced to reveal subscriber information without any real oversight on how the information is being used. This has already happened in countries such as China.
3) It could ultimately impact our members' trust in our service. As we mentioned earlier, the first reason is why we are concerned. Netflix is one of the most popular streaming services, and the fact that they would choose to block access to VPNs could potentially mean they will block access to other, more popular, entertainment services that rely on VPNs to work. We see that as limiting competition and choice in this marketplace.
In addition, this is not simply a technical issue. According to our research, governments often use VPN usage as a tool for spying. A recent example in India was documented where investigators searched for certain keywords related to VPN services, and then subsequently charged two men for having access to a VPN connection. In the United States, law enforcement has been known to abuse their power to look for evidence of the use of any virtual private network (VPN) service.
Given the sensitive nature of communications over VPN services, this is a risk to our privacy and our ability to do business in certain markets. This is something that any company that values privacy should support. We want the people in control of our data, and we certainly don't want to be in the position where this information can be accessed by oppressive governments.
The second reason is simply that this is the current practice in many countries where laws are already in place to protect user information, so it's certainly no reason to change course. While we do have legal obligations, this doesn't mean we shouldn't try to improve on these protections. For example, in India a new proposed law would give authorities access to private communications.
