Is there a season 2 of Freelancer?
Freelancer is an episodic game about shipping cargo from one world to another. Each episode can be played in about 20 minutes. The story centers around the crew of a small ship called the Freelancer who are trying to make it from the industrial world of Terron to the peaceful planet of Arcadia. Along the way they meet characters with amazing stories.
Freelancer was designed and produced by Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw of Zero Punctuation and the podcast 99th Minute. There are several different kinds of episodes in Freelancer. Some of them will be stand-alone, while others will have a direct influence on the other episodes. Some episodes will be entirely comedic and some will be entirely serious. Each of these different kinds of episodes is more fun if you're following along in sequence, but they're also totally fine if you jump in at any point and enjoy.
You can click here to check out a list of all the episodes. Each episode is hosted on YouTube and linked to its location on the site, so you can follow along easily.
Season 2 is complete. In Season 1, you could say were "saving the world", which is a more literal way of saying that were shipping cargo to help out a planet in danger of being overrun by pirates. In Season 2, we're saving a planet that is being threatened by a war between two factions, which is actually a much more interesting kind of threat to the planet. It's not really a spoiler if you haven't played Season 1 yet, because the threat to Arcadia is revealed only towards the end of Season 1. You can read about it here.
In the first episode of Season 2, you'll be introduced to our new crew member: an old friend of ours. The Season 2 episodes are much longer than the Season 1 episodes. As always, we wanted to make sure that the episodes could be played as short or long games as you wanted. So the episodes run anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. They're also longer than usual because of the added length and the extra content that comes with it. The episodes also continue to be hosted on YouTube, so you can watch them without any problems.
What is a freelancer web series?
What can it offer and how can it be monetized?
It's a series of web-based video shorts, that are released online. It's a mix of original content as well as other existing content being repurposed. And some of it is being monetized. You can see one example of this in action below.
We at TheFreelancer have launched a handful of our own freelancer web series over the last few years. As part of this process we set out to understand what they are; what's unique about them; what can a freelancer web series offer in terms of content or value; and what's possible to do when creating a web series of your own.
Here we describe what we learned. As always, you can see more about TheFreelancer here. What makes a freelancer web series? In its simplest form a freelancer web series is an online web series that uses freelance-created content instead of traditional scripted TV, movies or video series. As TheFreelancer's content has evolved over the last few years we've learnt that a freelancer series can offer something more than an ordinary scripted web series. Below we list 6 things they can do: 1) They Can Be Used To Generate a Steady Stream of Content. The Freelance Web Series: It's a new medium, but can provide the option for an existing platform. This is because there are now so many freelance content providers, who all offer a web series or video podcast as part of their portfolio. So the same content can be shared with a wider audience.
This can also be a platform for you, the freelancer, to demonstrate your skillset. You don't need to create all the content yourself (and therefore risk being that guy who didn't deliver on your side project), and you can reuse content that you created elsewhere (it's not just limited to your own freelance business as some may think).
For instance, we launched a freelancer web series in 2025 called TheFancyDiet - A health nutrition web series for freelancers. The web series was filmed by a team that already worked with TheFreelancer.
But there was another element to the web series.
Is The Freelancer a true story?
(And yes, it's about that too)
I don't usually read books that are based on a true story. In real life, I have met lots of freelancers that were freelancers in their real life as well. The way we go about doing what we do ie creating stuff, making stuff is so very similar in both cases and sometimes I wonder why anyone would want to change one reality for another one.
Nevertheless, I was very intrigued when a friend told me that the author of this book, John Price, used to work as a freelancer. He then had a lot of freelancer friends that wrote similar stories and that's why he thought this could be very cool and interesting too. So it ended up being a different reality because no one was fictionalising anything; there were no imaginary places, people or events. Everything happened to them or not?
In our previous interview we found out they worked for an IT consultancy and that things didn't go so well as he predicted and that, eventually, they became entrepreneurs. The question is: are the stories of each other the same or are they so very different and how and why? They started with a few books and one of them was Freelance Empire which is a great resource for people looking to take control of their professional life. That was a bit of a wakeup call for me, too, because I knew it was going to be a tough market and so it was! When we meet one another we share this particular experience, although we know other freelancers who didn't have the same outcome of a positive one, either because they failed to realise how difficult it actually was to do what they wished to achieve. This is quite common: when one freelancer meets another even more so at conferences, when you run into a real person that has an actual life, they tend to share quite similar experiences.
This kind of a thing is also one of the reasons why, before starting a blog or writing articles, you are much better off reading real-life stories about the topic. Because when you hear other people talking and doing what you wanted to do (ie start a company, create and sell art or products, etc.) you get a clue or at least some inspiration.
Which OTT platform is freelancer on?
How does it work with all these platforms?
I want to go with ott-platform.com but I dont see how I can get to the freelancer platform. What do I have to do in order to sign up on ott-platform.com to get on the freelancer platform?
I am an affiliate for ott-platform, but since I am not an ott affiliate user myself, I don't have any access to the affiliate tools like the one that lets me track the numbers. I would prefer to use an ott affiliate code and that way I would be able to track it, but if I have to use a normal one then that would be a no go for me. @jimmylucash Thanks for the advice. I think the other way around is also possible. I just dont know how I can get from freelancer to ott-platform. Is that even possible? Or do I have to do some extra steps?
It's simple: Sign up for the platform with your account at ott-platform. You will be taken to the Freelancer platform.
@jimmylucash Sorry to bother you, but the website is in Dutch, and I can't really understand what they are saying. Do I have to sign up with my ott-account or my freelancer-account to get on the platform? @jimmylucash I signed up for freelancer today. It asked for my OTT Account, but I dont have one, so I created a new account. I now have access to freelancer. Is there anything I should do?
@jimmylucash Thanks for the reply. I guess I didn't fully understand. So signing up for the ott-platform means I can sign up for the freelancer platform as well? Also, what do I have to do when I sign up for the platform?
In ott-platform.com, you will find a link "Go to the platform". Click on this link and you will land on your freelance account.
When you log in to ott-platform.com, you will see in the top left corner your OTT account, that you just created.
What you have to do next depends on the country you are in.
