Can you see daily data usage on an iPhone?

How do I check my iPhone usage per day?

You can use iPhone usage monitoring to check how many megabytes (MB) and how many megabits (Mb) you used in the last 24 hours. The usage monitoring is free in iOS, without any in-app purchases. Just install the usage monitoring and follow the prompts. You can also do this in the Settings app.

Step 1. Open the Settings app and tap Usage. Step 2. Tap Data Usage. The current date will be displayed on the left and total megabytes and megabits used (over the last day) will be displayed in the centre. To switch between the megabyte and the megabit, tap More details, as shown in Figure 1. Tap or click Megabytes to see the usage in the last 24 hours.

It's a daily activity monitor that helps you understand how you're using your iPhone. To track your use of iOS apps, you'll have to choose an App Tracking subscription plan, for either the standard monthly or year-long subscription. Tap All Apps.

Tap the Start button to select Start usage tracking, as shown in Figure 3. Figure 3: Start usage tracking. If you want to change the subscription period for your App Tracking subscription plan, tap the Start usage tracking button again. On the next screen, tap Manage.

Step 4. Tap Change the subscription plan. On the next screen, tap App Tracking.

Step 5. Select the subscription plan you want. The next screen will prompt you to select your plan's start and end dates. Select the start and end dates and tap Next.

You may need to choose between Month and Year views, depending on when you want to start tracking.

Can you see daily data usage on an iPhone?

For most of us, the iPhone is the key to the digital world; it's our personal computer.

So there has to be a way to track that iPhone data usage that is not yet readily available, but I think it can be done.

As usual, the Apple website is always a great source of information. However, the section that is most relevant to the issue we are exploring today is: . This particular topic has an area in the left sidebar that reads as follows:

The device shows average data usage based on the last 30 days and you can view real-time data usage on the Data Usage tab. Notice that it is talking about the last 30 days, and the real-time part is implied. As we all know, the iPhone can only do so much at any one time, and is not capable of logging how much data was used in real-time every 10 seconds.

However, if the phone is still turned on or the data allowance not fully used up (ie, no new calls and messages were added, or the device is not charging), the data limit for the current period can be calculated by looking at the data used by the iPhone in that same period. For example, this past week, my friend's son spent 2 hours a day playing Pokmon. And this week, I have been going out for walks almost every day at 7:30am, 8:30am, 9:00am, 11:00am, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, and 6:00pm. On top of that, I also sent 3 emails each day, including to myself! But, I only started this activity at 3:00pm last Friday, so I expect the total real-time data usage this week, before even counting email usage, was approximately 13 hours (or 1,500 megabytes) - or approximately 4 GB.

I have been working on the development of a simple app that will be able to display how much real-time data usage occurs on an iPhone, using the data stored by the iOS, so that we can have an easy visual indicator of just how much data we are using without actually having to look at the iPhone.
