Why did Spock's father marry a human?
The human woman is played by the American star and actress Nichelle Nichols.
She is also the mother of both the alien Spock and the Captain Kirk-ian character, Mr. Sulu. At the time the movie came out, Nichelle Nichols was a black woman who had made her name as a TV star on Star Trek, including a role in which she played a character in blackface. She would win an Emmy award for the role that year, along with a Tony Award in 1977. But by then Star Trek, a show she had been involved in from the beginning, was over. In fact it would be almost fifteen years before she would appear in another major film role. Now, Nichelle has become a beloved figure not just because of her portrayal of Uhura, but also because of her outspoken social activism and marriage to a human.
The episode itself shows the difficulties of marriage between two species, with Spock's father, Mr. Spock, marrying a human.
The episode was initially written by Gene Roddenberry, who wrote the original Star Trek series. However, when he handed off the script to director Robert Zemeckis, who had come on board after Roddenberry left to form his own production company, he added some more humor in what is mostly an emotional episode.
When you look at the title sequence of the original series, the show's name is actually the first word you see. This wasn't true for subsequent episodes (though they wouldn't necessarily state this right away), but for the first episode you see the title The Man Trap. For other seasons, the titles just began with Star Trek.
In the original series episode The Man Trap, Dr. McCoy looks down at an operating table, with the mannequin-like body of the android Spock lying there. It's meant to be a bit ridiculous that Spock can have sex, even in a way that's not human, if you will, because he's supposed to be in a kind of suspended animation for the purposes of his being operated on.
But that's part of the show's humor. We're meant to think that we're seeing a scene in which Dr.
How many wives did Spock's father have?
Why was Kirk's mother's name never mentioned in the series?
Why does Spock's father never appear? ? I'll try to answer all of these questions. Number of wives. There is no mention of Spock's father having any wives. There is a scene in Star Trek VI where Kirk, Spock and McCoy go to visit the Vulcan ambassador on Earth, where they are invited to have tea. When Kirk asks Spock how many wives he has, Spock says "I have none".
That is as close as we get. Number of wives from novels. We can however infer from The Wrath of Khan that Spock's father had 3 wives. Kirk was told that his mother died of illness when he was young. Spock's father and step-mother had a baby boy named Sybok. It seems that his father died shortly after he was born, and his mother died a few years later.
The baby boy was raised by his step-mother. When Spock was young, he was sent to a boarding school with another boy named Sybok, who was raised by his grandmother.
So, his father had 3 wives, and it appears that he died before the birth of his son, leaving his wife and son with no other relatives. Number of wives from other canon. The character Romulan from Star Trek: Nemesis has a daughter named Alia who is apparently Spock's half-sister. This means that Spock is not only half-human, but also has a sister. Number of wives from movies. In Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, the Enterprise visits the planetoid where the crew met the Horta, who they call a pet. They find out that one of the Horta's children is named Kirk. This implies that Spock's father had at least two wives.
Did the actor who played Spock's father also play a Romulan?
You can see his face on the cover of a "Star Trek New Visions" book, but was he also on camera, or just in pictures?
Was Kirk's mother played by an actress? According to a comment on page 33 of Star Trek: The First 50 Years is there any information about whether James Doohan who played Scotty's father and grandfather also played either character? What was the difference between the original series and original prime-time series regarding number of scripts per year? Which was the first episode broadcast? Why were both versions of The Cage used, with the TV version being made specifically for the 50th Anniversary Special, and the Star Trek novel edition being made just for the novels? Did TOS use stock footage, and was there a limit as to the number of seconds before each shot could be reused? I've only recently learned about the Kirk-to-Spock speech. Was this speech originally part of the pilot episode, only later being adapted to its own episode? Have any of the other actors ever mentioned what they did during the hiatus? Thank you. Thanks for adding your questions! Please be advised that we may choose not to answer these questions. The questions about the actor who played Spock's father are answered in this video: ?
How old was Sarek when he died?
The Vulcan ambassador was born about twenty standard years ago.
Sarek was the ambassador to Bajor when the Cardassian Union attacked the planet, and Starfleet later asked Bajor to join Starfleet as a result of the First Order Incident, in which Cardassians destroyed the Bajoran homeworld. Sarek was the most senior Starfleet officer involved in the decision to accept Bajor, and was considered a friend of Bajorans since before the attack. According to the official Star Trek chronology, the time gap covers from the time of the previous episode, "The Disease", to this one. With a little creative license, it can be said that the next three seasons form a three-year cycle (a similar pattern happens in the 24th century), beginning with "Dark Frontier" and ending with "Endgame". A little bit of the horror of space." In the original draft of the script for this episode, Chakotay and Tuvok would appear for the first time. This idea ultimately didn't make it into the finished episode. Instead, in order to create suspense for the two-hour finale, Seska was written to be merely one of many recurring characters killed in this episode.
