How do I convert GPS coordinates to Google Maps?
I am doing an app in which I am using location data coming from GPS coordinates.
Now, there are certain points of interest for example hotels and hospitals. Now my question is, ? I don't know the exact distance from certain points.
As a side note for anyone who stumbles upon this post, while Android has support for google maps like this, iOS does not. In other words, you are looking for a jailbreak.
To get the Latitude, Longitude, and the Name of a marker, you need to use a URL that looks like this: Parameters is where you pass the lat, long, name etc. Into. The important piece is to use JSON and the encoding "utf-8" (if you just use raw text, nothing will happen).
If you pass the parameters into a JSON encoder like this: try .getType(); Collection
How do I convert GPS coordinates to address?
I have an Address table in my database.
One of the fields is the lat, lon and altitude (altitude is in meters).
I also have a GPS coordinate data coming from the database. The Lat, Lng and Altitude (altitude is in meters) are stored in the database.
What I want to do is convert the GPS coordinates to a lat/lon/altitude. How do I do that? I've read about the Haversine Formula and that seems to work but it doesn't seem to be working right. I use JSF to create the GUI so any help using Java code would be appreciated. Here is my code: public static double getLatLong(String gpsLoc). You can't get a correct answer with haversine formula. It assumes that both earths and planets are spheres with the same radius, which is not true.
You could use the formula you're using and take into account the curvature of earth, but to get a correct result you'll need to calculate the distance between the two points and divide the resulting distance by the straight-line distance. That's a lot of computing though.
Instead, use google maps and find the distance between the two points. You can't use this for more than one point, but if you only have two then it's easy to calculate.
For more information on how the distances of points on the earth can differ, see Wikipedia - Geographic distance.
How do you convert coordinates to a map?
Well, you just need the latitude and longitude values of your location.
If you're using Google Maps, follow this handy guide to get your coordinates.
The process is pretty simple. Just create a new document in an editor, paste the coordinates into it, and export it as a JPEG. Then upload it to Google Maps.
Here's an example. Let's say you're at 43.569816, -122.281334 . And you want to convert that information to Google Maps coordinates so you can visualize your location on the map.
Paste the Coordinates into an Editor. Export it as a JPEG. Open up the editor of your choice and paste in the following coordinates: 281334. After pasting the coordinates, you'll get an icon that says Google Maps. But do you see the coordinates? No? This is because the image isn't saved with the coordinates. Instead, what happens is the editor uses image-editing tools to change the appearance of those coordinates. For instance, the coordinates might appear as blue points surrounded by red lines or something. It looks like this:
Save the file in whatever format you prefer either as a Photoshop, Lightroom, or Photoshop CC document or as a Google Docs document. For more information about how to access the editor, check out this tutorial. The editor features a tutorial button at the top right-hand side. That's a useful shortcut for tutorials like this one.
Upload it to Google Maps. Now that you have the coordinates, you can export it as a JPEG. Click on the Google Maps button at the top right-hand side of the editor window. The window will open up automatically with all the default settings.
Click on the Add a new custom location button at the top of the dialog box. Type in the location (city, state, country, etc.)
You only have to put in the country. For instance, you can select the United States in the country box. And to enter a city, state, or zip code, put in the location field.
