How do I fix error code 30 on Spotify?
Spotify is experiencing a widespread outage, with users around the world reporting problems connecting to the service.
The issue appears to be affecting both the iOS and Android apps as well as the desktop website. We've asked Spotify for more information, but in the meantime, you can make sure you don't miss out on your playlists by bookmarking the track on Spotify or listening via Apple Music or Google Play.
Why do I get error code 30 on Spotify? Error code 30 means that Spotify can't connect to the Internet. It's usually caused by your internet connection being down, or being over-loaded. You might also be getting this error if you're downloading Spotify from the Apple or Google app stores instead of using the official web browser at or
If you're still having trouble, you can manually fix the issue by switching back to your normal browser and accessing Spotify's web site. You'll then be able to use the app as normal.
What happens next? After you switch back to your normal browser and restart Spotify, you'll notice that you won't be able to login. At this point, we'd recommend trying to log in again, but if you continue to have issues, you can try to sign in through another web browser.
If you continue to have issues after trying to login through a different web browser, try your login information on another device or computer. If you're still having issues, please contact our Support team at support.spotify.com or call us at 1-866-849-0111.
If you receive an error code 30 error on your Spotify desktop client, you'll need to open a new tab in your web browser and access the Spotify website at. It may take a few seconds to load, but once it does, you'll be taken to the home page and a new window will open where you'll see a message saying Spotify is having problems. Try again later.
How do I stop my Mac from blocking Spotify firewall?
The Mac firewall has never stopped us from using Spotify.
We always open a network exception for each Spotify-related site, so why do we keep getting blocked in 2019? Is something new going on that I'm not aware of? I read somewhere about something new going on? Is there anyone who knows what this something new is, and what exactly you mean by somehow it's blocking? (Or maybe we're misunderstanding?). If you block all apps (it's a choice, after all), the Mac firewall will usually automatically open that exception for Spotify. However, if you choose Only allow when using specific apps or features, then if you use Spotify as your music playback application the firewall will block the Spotify-related site. (Note: you might want to consider making a separate exception for Spotify as a web server so that if an app crashes, it doesn't mean everything is blocked.)
This isn't any new thing, as I mentioned above. It seems that maybe your firewall service/application is new enough to be ignoring the exception that you've already made.
You can manually force a connection in the Firewall preferences (open the application) and connect manually to the Spotify servers to force a connection. Note, however, that forcing the connection also resets other firewalls (like for Apple servers, etc.), which could be problematic.
Hi, great solution but I think I got this to happen by doing what I found online. I just uninstalled my Mac's software Firewall (I've since bought Little Snitch Pro for personal safety), and then opened my network exception in the firewall. That way, when I tried to Spotify, it connected without issue.
Hello, I am not talking about some random app causing it but that everytime I open up a game on spotify it says I have to close firewall to play. Even a game from another app.
Like I know what you mean, and you're right that I should have mentioned about the firewall. My assumption was that it's the firewall's fault, and maybe that's true, so I asked the same question at the official app's forum. Their response said the same thing (it's up to the user to do so).
How do I fix a firewall that may be blocking Spotify?
If you're having problems listening to your Spotify in Linux, it's likely that a firewall is blocking the streaming protocol.
This is the case for Spotify on Windows, Mac and most mobile platforms, but not Spotify for Linux. This page explains how to fix Spotify in Linux if your ISP has filtered access to its website. If you're just looking for a quick solution, use the Quick Fix instructions below to avoid the work required in the Full Fix.
Before you start. Be sure you know how to use a terminal and that you're comfortable with the commands needed to fix your Spotify problem. Quick fix. To fix your problems quickly, try switching to a different streaming protocol. For example, you could listen to music on YouTube instead.
You could use the Ogg Vorbis audio streaming format. Ogg Vorbis streaming works on almost every website and supports many Linux programs. The only browser that doesn't work is Firefox, but other programs such as Audacious can play Ogg Vorbis files.
Spotify can play Ogg Vorbis streams on any device, but your browser must support them (see the requirements above). Alternatively, try a different streaming protocol. If the first doesn't work, try a different protocol.
Spotify can't fix a firewall that blocks streaming protocols. When using Spotify, your broadband internet connection may be filtering web requests from streaming music. This means that Spotify can't reach the streaming servers to start streaming. You can't access Spotify unless your firewall allows access to its web servers. The same applies to other streaming protocols.
Your broadband connection may be doing this because it's set up as a Home Gateway, or as a Network Load Balancer. It may also be used to block any traffic on port 80 (HTTP) to prevent the use of unapproved web browsers.
You can change your connection settings to stop the filter. Firewall. Your broadband connection is almost certainly using a firewall. You can block access to the Spotify web server in Firefox or most other browsers.
You may have to contact your broadband provider to make sure the settings are correct. A Network Load Balancer isn't able to block web traffic.
Changing the port for HTTP. Another way to get around the problem is to block the TCP/80 (web server) port in your firewall.
