How do I turn on AdBlock on Firefox?
I just switched from Safari to Firefox.
I can't figure out how to turn on the AdBlock extension that I have in Safari.
I downloaded Firefox, and there is no option for that (see screenshot). I also downloaded the extension, but it's not the AdBlock extension.
In case you can't read it: Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Edit: I downloaded the extension from here: I don't have any add-ons for Firefox. In any case, what are you trying to do? Is there something specific that the AdBlock extension does that the other adblock extensions don't do? ? I downloaded Firefox, and there is no option for that (see screenshot). Thanks for posting this. The reason I'm asking is that this page works fine on Safari.
As it turns out, I have the AdBlock extension from the Mozilla website installed on Firefox. The screenshot I originally posted came from my browser; it's the screenshot of that, not the Firefox screenshot. I'll give the Mozilla one a try. I'll report back with what I find out.
Edit: Turns out the AdBlock extension from the Mozilla website will work fine in Firefox if you disable all extensions. So I did that, and then it worked fine. If you really want to get the AdBlock extension that you have on Safari, just download it again. The installer will tell you what your extension is called. It will not automatically be installed, however.
Hi EJ. Just to clarify, which version of Firefox are you using? We just released a new version of Adblock Plus for Firefox, but it will not work on Firefox 3.
Does Firefox have a built in ad blocker?
I'm just wondering
I just got my first android phone and im excited about using it and what not, I have a desktop and laptop but I think ive noticed that on my desktop when I go to youtube I have like 30 videos of ads and on my mobile when I go to youtube theres always like 5 or 6 videos of ads and I dont want to have to download an ad blocker.
Re: Firefox has a built in ad blocker? I'm just wondering. Well, I do have an adblocker. Not firefox, but an adblocker called ABP (adblock Plus) which is actually very good. It's free and easy to use and you don't have to mess with your hosts file to make it work.
Firefox has adblock plus, but if you don't want to use a third party program, there is a way to disable them in firefox too. I'm not sure which version you have, but the latest has an "adblock" button that does what you want. I'm just wondering
I guess you can download some add block extension for firefox but I'm sure you'll find one that doesn't conflict with firefox other features. I personally have used ABP and found it to be a great solution for blocking ads on websites without having to use a proxy or messing with your hosts file. You can also whitelist certain domains if you prefer.
You can even make ABP a shortcut that will open a webpage and then click on a banner to block it. I don't think you have to download ABP for that, I just saw it on a website about 4 years ago.
So it sounds like the problem is not with Firefox itself. It's the web page you're visiting that is causing you to have so many ads.
How do I download and install AdBlock for Firefox?

It does not block websites by default and cannot remove tracking cookies, popups or other annoyances. We don't recommend disabling any other protection when using AdBlock for Firefox. Ads are everywhere, and it's hard to avoid them as an online shopper. However, ads can be annoying and distracting, and advertisers frequently take advantage of this by trying to manipulate the minds of their audience. The problem is that many sites use scripts to track and report web behavior - and they're often enabled with your consent when you visit the site. Many of these scripts have privacy-invasive features baked in, and can even do things like read your private messages. Some advertising tools also include malicious code. Adblock for Firefox helps you make better decisions by giving you control over the browsing environment, blocking any ads on a page and helping to maintain clean, reliable websites. By blocking ads, you help ensure that tracking and other invasive programs are not included. In short: your choice has never been more important.
This plugin helps you decide what your browser should be showing you online. It blocks known advertisements, known tracking code, and known abusive ads. This is not to be confused with anti-ad plugins that simply block or remove existing advertising on a website.

Is there a free AdBlocker for Firefox?
If so, what is it and how do you get it? I find this question interesting. I have used the AdblockPlus extension in the past but find it very annoying. I do not want to block ads in general, but I do not want to be interrupted by ads while I am doing something else on the computer. I am just looking for a simple solution to help block ads and other stuff while I am working on the computer.
If there is not a free or even free-as-in-beer (as in beer or booze) ad blocker for firefox, does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish the same effect? For example, if I am watching a video in the Firefox browser, the videos automatically pause every few seconds and then resume when the ad ends. I would like to somehow block these things from happening, but I do not know how to do it.
In my Firefox profile, I have the following: AdblockPlus extension (works with Chrome as well). Adblock Plus 1.7.15 ()
Adblock Plus - The add-on that turns your adblocker into a privacy and security tool ( ). Adblock Plus is add-on for Adblock Plus that adds several features to the plugin. "NoScript" (for security). (for security) "NoScript Plus" (more security features). (more security features) "NoScript for Firefox" (security features without NoScript). I use all of these extensions. You can view the settings for each of them by right-clicking on the extension and selecting "about". This may vary by browser, but it is the way to access the settings.
I don't want to block ads. I only want to block certain types of annoying content. I just want a simple solution to block any annoying content. I know there are several different methods of accomplishing this, but I do not want to install several different programs. I just want to block ads, popups, sound, etc., while I am doing other things.
