How do I fix Netflix black screen on my LG Smart TV?
There is no problem on the computer.
I can load up any Netflix web browser and it loads up fine, but if I try to stream video through a Netflix app on my TV the screen goes black. The Netflix app will load, but then once the picture is about to play the TV just stops playing and goes black. I'm not sure how to diagnose this problem or what I can do to fix it. Does anyone know how to fix this?
This is my first time with a Smart TV so if you have any information I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance! Re: ? Thanks for the reply, but when I tried your fix and tried to watch Netflix, the same thing happened. The screen went black. I have no idea what the problem is and no way to test it.
I've tried resetting the TV, resetting the network, restarting the router, nothing works. Every time I try to watch Netflix it just goes black.
@cjmiller75. I did the test, and it worked fine for me. You don't really need to test Netflix with a VPN, because I tested with the VPN off and the TV still had the Netflix issue. So I am 100% sure the issue is with the connection itself. You can just test it yourself by setting up a VPN and see if it fixes your problem. I believe it's a configuration issue with Netflix.
Hi @cjmiller75. I have no problems when I use Netflix when I have a computer running. It works fine. I didn't try using a VPN on my computer, but maybe that will work. I'll try to test it on my phone later tonight. Thanks for the tip.
Why is Netflix suddenly not working on my TV?
You could be experiencing a few common problems when it comes to Netflix streaming.
The service could not stream, or the available list of available titles is too long, or the service might be working on the wrong TV or device. And to make things even more confusing, Netflix has announced that they're planning to change their product in the near future, which could be what's causing all of this.
We've got some tips for you on how to fix any of these problems, but first of all, let's take a look at why Netflix streaming can be so problematic and what you should do if it's not working. Why is Netflix not working on my TV? When it comes to Netflix, there are some reasons why the service might not work on your TV. Netflix may not have enough bandwidth. There are two ways to watch movies or shows on Netflix: via Wi-Fi or by using a broadband connection. If you're using a Wi-Fi connection to access Netflix, then your Wi-Fi router or modem might not have enough bandwidth for Netflix's demands.
To resolve this issue, simply add more bandwidth to your home network. Most broadband plans include extra data in their package, so you can upgrade your plan to get the most out of your Netflix streaming experience. Alternatively, you could also try switching your network to a wired connection, such as Ethernet.
You could be missing an essential part of Netflix's app. You've likely installed Netflix on your computer or mobile device, but you've not installed it on your TV yet? If you haven't installed it, or if it's just not working, then there's a good chance that you're missing an important part of the Netflix app. This includes things like the Netflix login page, sign-in and sign-out buttons, or the search page.
To resolve this problem, you'll need to make sure that you've updated Netflix's app on your TV as well. If you've installed Netflix on your TV and it's not working, then it's highly likely that you're missing the Netflix login page.
How do I reset Netflix on my smart TV?
You don't have to do much.
When we first got our set up, it worked okay. But Netflix had no idea who were. A friend got Netflix for me after they had no clue why I was still using our old smart TV. I had used the reset feature on it and it didn't have a big impact - only my login went away. The new smart TV also had issues with content discovery - it wasn't sure if I had paid for something or not and sometimes it would suggest things I couldn't log into. So I didn't think anything of it.
One day though, Netflix stopped working. It didn't even give any error messages. The content suggestions disappeared and nothing in the remote worked. I unplugged it from the internet for about 10 minutes. While unplugging it, it suddenly worked.
A good thing to know, sometimes the internet may be needed to be able to log in for Netflix. The most common reason we get this type of problem is that you use your Netflix app and that isn't a streaming service you subscribe to on the Netflix website. If the two don't match, then it can stop the login.
I thought maybe we just needed to add our cable subscription instead, but even after adding that as a paid account, the login failed. We could also turn off everything with the apps off, but it didn't have an effect.
So, what is the reset feature you ask? Well, it is quite simple. You press on the menu button, select Settings and then go into the Netflix section. This will bring up a few settings. When you get there, it will probably say to 'restart Netflix.' So press this option.
It may go red and say an error has occured and restart the app. If this happens, just repeat these steps and keep doing them until it works. You should then be logged in again. After that, it should work fine without any other issues.
