How do I restrict programs in Windows 11?

How do I block an application in Windows Firewall?

I have to block a site on the windows firewall.

I found tons of articles online that say that I should go in settings > windows firewall, then right click on an application and choose 'allow access'. Well I can't find where that option is, or even if that's what I'm looking for.

Click on Advanced Settings in the Windows Firewall app in Control Panel. This will open a small window called "Windows Firewall advanced settings".

Once you are in there, you'll find lots of options, and in the bottom left corner of the page, you'll find a small arrow button with text "Show Rules". Click on that button and the whole list of rules will appear.

Right-click on any application or rule listed there and choose "Open" to take a look at the rule in question. Then go ahead and choose "Edit" for that rule. The "edit window" will open, allowing you to make changes to that rule. If you right-click on an application listed, it'll show you additional options, such as "Add exceptions to this rule", "Delete this rule" and "Add rules from an external file".

How do I block Internet for certain programs in Windows 11?

When I am using Internet on my Windows 11 PC, it has gotten to the point where all I can do is look at porn, online shopping and Facebook.

There are many programs that I want to block but when I go to the Block Internet from specified programs or add them to the "trusted programs" list and I want to run an application, I am able to do that. It's like they are not on the list and I can't block them. What should I do to be able to block certain programs from accessing the Internet?

I have even tried disabling automatic updating. Thanks for any help you can give. I have a PC running Windows 7 and I have the same problem. I need to be able to block certain websites. How do I do this?

Please help! If you are talking about blocking unwanted Internet access, you will need to look into the "Internet Connection Sharing" features in your router or computer. Basically you will need to share the Internet connection from your computer (a LAN connection) with the router (which will be your Internet connection). This means that the router will have the IP address of your main ISP, and you computer will have a temporary IP address, such as 192.168.0.50. You can do this by adding the router to your computer's "trusted" network, and connecting the router's Ethernet to your PC's Ethernet port. If you are not familiar with what I am describing, I suggest looking up "Internet Connection Sharing" on your router's manual.

If you are trying to block specific websites, you may want to look into the "Modify DNS" settings on your router. This means that instead of going straight to your ISP's website, your browser will send its requests to your ISP's DNS servers first. Your ISP's DNS servers will then forward the requests to the desired website. So when you browse to www.google.com, your browser will send out a request to your ISP's DNS servers for www. These servers will forward the request to Google's DNS servers which will in turn forward the request to Google's website. In this way, if you are trying to block the website, you will just be making the request go to the wrong place.

I hope that helps.

How do I restrict programs in Windows 11?

This should work, as it worked with Windows 10. Please note I only have .exe files in my program folder. Programs that are created in Visual Studio don't work and I have no clue how to modify them to work for windows 9/10 as this is what my program is based on.

I looked around a few answers for this question but they are a bit outdated. I would be very grateful if somebody knows the answer for Windows 11 or a solution in general. If there is a solution it must not require any code modifications. It should be available through a way other than editing the actual file permissions.
