How do I access Chrome flags settings?
I'm working on an app that needs to access Chrome flags settings but I can't seem to figure out where they are.
The documentation isn't really helping, it's like you have to know all the parameters and flags to use chrome://flags as the url to open them. The flags dialog is not the right place to do this either and seems like a hidden setting. I want to get at the global options.
It's called chrome://flags/extensions. If you want to view them all in one place, click on More extensions and then go to the 'chrome' section and open 'about:extensions'. To get more specific, if you want to access those flags for a specific extension, go to its manifest file and look for the section where there are chrome.manifest entries and look for chromemanifestpath. That should give you the path for the manifest of that extension. Then open chrome://flags and just paste the path into the URL bar.
For anyone else who comes here, I didn't manage to get into Chrome flags with command line. name chrome.manifest"
./usr/lib/google-chrome ./etc/google-chrome ./usr/lib/google-chrome-stable ./usr/share/applications/google-chrome.desktop
./etc/google-chrome-stable ./usr/lib/google-chrome/chrome-sandbox ./etc/google-chrome/chrome-sandbox ./usr/share/applications/google-chrome-sandbox.
What Chrome flags should I enable on Android?
I am running Chrome on my Pixel 2 XL.
I have run it at level 14 as of right now. Is there anything else I can be doing that will give me the best performance?
The best practice is disabling all (or most of) the features you don't need. You've said you want the good performance but what is that? If your browsing time is limited, you may try to decrease the number of plugins (ie you browser does not have to open and check hundreds of other scripts), disable the autoplaying media (by default when a video starts playing, you see a small preview image in the top left corner), etc. The Chrome Flags documentation gives a few options, and I suggest you follow the instructions there to see which settings are recommended by Google.
How do I enable download speed in Chrome Flags?
I'm trying to download the latest Windows update using Windows Update as well as the web interface.
I understand that when I attempt to download the updates I will encounter some issues. The main issue being the download speed being extremely slow. For example, my download speed can be 10-50kbs.
What I need to do is: Enable the "Download updates in the background" option in the chrome flags. When I download updates from the web interface make sure the download speed is set at least 50kbs for the download. Download updates from the Windows Update. How do I enable the "Download updates in the background" in Chrome Flags? How do I change the download speed that it updates my PC in the web interface? I am running chrome 35. The option of "Download updates in the background" allows the downloads to be performed in the background (asynchronously), and so if you enable it the downloads will start being made while you are on another tab, and it won't stop them and wait until you are back to complete them. If you have the option enabled, Windows Update will then use it to download and install the update (if it was a patch), or if it is an update that needs to be re-installed/re-mastered then it will be downloaded by the Windows Update feature. It's worth noting that if the "Download updates in the background" option is not enabled, then the updates will still be installed and it might take a few minutes.
