How to reset screen time passcode after 10 failed attempts?

How to configure iPad to erase data after 10 failed attempts?

The iPad needs to be configured to erase data (the hard drive) after 10 failed login attempts and not just 1, or 3, because I have an ipad that is getting old and has a few issues, so I want it to reset it self the next day to the factory setting. What is the command in terminal in Ubuntu 14.04 that will erase and put it in factory setting?

I have tried googling but cant find anything. My solution so far, is to buy a USB cord (which I dont want to do) and use the built-in erase function, then plug it in and it says it erases it, but I have to set my settings back up later after its been used, which is annoying.

How to reset screen time passcode after 10 failed attempts?

You can manage your screen time with the passcode feature.

You have set 10 passcode attempts and each time you are blocked from accessing your device, your passcode is changed.

However, after the 10th passcode attempt fails, you cannot reset the screen time passcode as it has already reached the maximum limit. Therefore, you cannot go through the 10 passcode attempts again. Instead of this, you must reset the passcode to free the passcode.

How to reset screen time passcode? If you want to reset the passcode, then you should use the following steps: Turn off your iPhone completely. After this, open Settings. Go to General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Now press the Reset button. After this, you will be prompted to restart your iPhone. How to set the maximum passcode attempts? You can adjust the maximum passcode attempts from 1 to 20 times. You can choose any number as per your convenience. Once you have made the desired choice, then tap on Reset button and you will be able to change the maximum passcode attempts. This helps you to save battery life by managing the screen time and avoid draining your battery life. How to get more than 10 failed attempts? If you fail in the passcode 10 times, then you can reset the passcode. However, you should know that it is not possible to increase the maximum passcode attempts. If you try to do so, you will be presented with the following message:

The maximum number of passcode attempts has been reached. It's not possible to increase the maximum passcode attempts. As you can see, the option of increasing the maximum passcode attempts is not available anymore. Instead, you can reset the passcode to free the passcode. This is done by pressing the Reset button from the passcode screen.

How to reset passcode again? If you failed the 10 passcode attempts, then you will be asked to reset the passcode. The next time, you will be able to enter the passcode again.

How do I unlock my iPad after failing attempts?

You don't need to pay Apple, you don't have to get a new iPad.

All you have to do is perform the following steps.

First make sure your iPad is connected to your computer, via USB or Wi-Fi.e. Launch iTunes from your Applications Menu and wait for the process to complete. At the bottom of iTunes screen it says 'iTunes ready to back up'. Now go into 'Device' and choose 'Upgrade iPhone to iOS 6.0'.

A few seconds later 'Backup done' will appear on the screen. After this process the iPad will automatically go into Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content & settings. At this stage if you didn't download any apps or data it should start the backup process again.

Then follow the standard directions for iOS updates: Turn off your device and wait for it to restart. When prompted to enter your Apple ID for the initial update set this information to the Apple ID used previously. Enter your 4-digit backup verification code and then follow the on-screen instructions. Once it has fully downloaded all updates your iPhone/iPad should be updated and ready for use. Can I still sell my old iPad? If you purchased the iPad through an original manufacturer (the first three months only), you can unlock and transfer your warranty from the warranty label on your old iPad to the replacement. Does the screen dim, even though you're clearly doing a good job of holding it?

I got the same thing when I got mine a few months ago. I took it to the store and they found some kind of setting that was messing with my screen. And I had to reset it.

My issue with trying to find good service is that most retailers only offer service for 3 years. So I'm always looking for service centers which are willing to service my iPad forever (maybe up to 5 years?).

Apple is getting better at fixing the small stuff and this particular customer experience issue does not surprise me. But it doesn't mean that it's easy to get their attention. It's kind of like those people who call to complain about slow service at Apple stores. They will listen but they usually are clueless about the actual cause.

Have no idea how the iPad is affected by "screen dimming", but have had a few incidents of brightness loss after being in direct sunlight for extended periods. I find it annoying and am reluctant to use an iPad in direct sunlight unless it's an iPad Pro. I wonder if the light is hitting the panel where the sensors are located. Is this likely?

What kind of settings/apps? I've not seen any problems with apps on my iPads. Have also only rarely experienced the brightness drop off problem mentioned, perhaps once or twice in the past 6 months or so. I have never noticed any difference in the screen dimming.

Interesting.
