Does live location mean they are on their phone?
Richard B.
Spencer, University of Washington - Seattle Published: October 31, 2026. A growing number of students at institutions throughout the country are learning to live for a while without their cellular phones. There are several reasons, ranging from the desire to break free from that phone, to the desire to connect with other students, to the wish to learn how to live without a cell phone for a while. At some places, the ban has had an even greater impact than others because of various forces related to the location of the institution.
One of these factors is the location of the college campus itself. Many campuses have relatively small communities, with few people living outside of campus. On the other hand, many campuses have more land and thus a greater number of people living in the area around the campus. In addition, certain parts of the college town can be seen as in versus out. The main avenues are the downtown commercial district, usually a college town center, where the university stores are located; the residential areas outside the downtown (commonly called the villages or golf course neighborhoods); and the campus of the school. Typically, only the campus is on campus. As you go further out, you are more likely to be considered to be away from campus by the time you reach the borders of the campus. All of these factors may be of significance to the campus president and his administrative staff as they plan and discuss a proposal to adopt a ban on cell phones.
Another factor is related to the location of the dorms. In addition to the residential areas, there may be dorms off-campus as well as on-campus. In some cases, dorm residents have to walk off-campus to reach other facilities, such as restaurants, banks, drugstores, etc. A dorm resident is then away from campus by the time he or she reaches the location of the facility. This affects both the dorm residents and their parents, who are trying to figure out how to get the kids back into the dorms after a short visit to these off-campus locations. Other dorm residents have to live near these off-campus locations.
How do I send a live location?
On a desktop browser, you can use your mouse to draw a circle on a map.
We will use the data from this live location in our example.
On the Android and iOS apps, you can tap the "Add location" button on the map to add a location. On the web app, just click on the "Add location" button. You will see a red pin appear on the map. The app is now tracking your location.
Can I view the trackers I've sent? You can access the map here. If you have other trackers, they will appear on the map as well.
How can I find my live location?
Location: Can you please send me more information about this?
I'm just trying to help my cousin and his wife, so I'd like to know which city or towns they are visiting so I can give them a helping hand if they decide to stop in. Thanks! ? Sorry, but this was written as a generic question rather than specifying what city or town. However, based on this question: How do I search for live video streaming from anywhere? You can use the URL, or the IP address of any webcam site. Google search: The example given in that question is using a free live stream from an IP address on the public Internet. That could be any of millions of other IP addresses in the US, Canada, Japan, Europe or anywhere else in the world. Not sure how the IP address of a mobile device is determined.
Well you can do it but not easily. For example take the example of a live stream.
1) On your website, point it at a live stream such as google.com (this will be someones IP) 2) Have your site say "Welcome Jane". 3) Have another page (on the same site) say something like "Jane, welcome back to the site". 4) If Jane visits your website, then the IP address you show Jane is the one that she uses. 5) The IP address you use to make that page is also the one used by the stream which could in theory be tracked, although I'm not really clear on how that is done, not entirely relevant to the question anyway. However the problem with trying to hide that data is that is probably a violation of most TOS's out there. This is a good thread, a lot of useful ideas in it. I hope they're all upvoted a bit, so maybe some day a real answer can be found, which could be very useful to visitors. (Not that I'm necessarily expecting one.)
You're not alone. We get similar questions quite often. One guy even sent us a question from the USA via this forum. Who is it?
What is live location now?
How are you doing?
I just bought a used 2026 GTI from my friend. I do all of the maintenance on it, but I don't really know how to look for it. There is a code in the computer that says "Live Location" or something like that. How do I find it?
In your vehicle diagnostic tool (OBD2 or OBD2), you will find a function for Live Location. You will find a lot of other codes such as 'Service'. They should help you finding them.
To find it you will have to go to the internet, search for your vehicle and find the code. Then you will have to search for that code on google.
It's usually located on the first page, under 'service'. You can find more information on what the code means here: In your vehicle diagnostic tool (OBD2 or OBD2), you will find a function for Live Location.
