How to use CCProxy software?
CCProxy Software has many features.
Most important thing for using it is setting proxy settings into configuration panel. For doing this you should have your internet protocol suite (for example HTTP or FTP), computer's IP address, port number and application's host address. Now it depends on which application you are trying to use. It has built-in support of several popular browsers including MS Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox and Opera. However it doesn't provide support for any other browsers like Mirosoft Edge, Opera Mini, Firefox OS, . Because you need to modify some file named config.
Here you'll see two examples for using CCProxy with Windows Firewall enabled and disabled. Let's start using CCProxy right away.
If you are about using CCProxy for Google Chrome Browser, in all cases it must have IP address 127.0.1, because your computer's IP address will be changed on every restart with new IP. It is very simple, just connect our computer by USB cable to router and start Google Chrome browser: In CCProxy you can change your IP address from "Advanced" settings and set it there. As we've already mentioned you don't need to install any additional software to run CCProxy, just download it from CCProxy software page. Then we start google chrome browser on your computer and go to CCProxy software's webpage
If you are about to use CCProxy with Firefox browser, just open CCProxy software's homepage You should see screen below if internet protocol is correctly set into CCProxy configurations. Also if you are setting a proxy for internet protocol such as HTTPS into CCProxy preferences, and in "HTTP Only" mode then you need to enter your application's host address. Let's take example for as host, it should look like this into CCProxy "Advanced" settings: Host = www.com
Note that CCProxy supports all major internet protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, FTP, Socks4/5, Tor), while not supports Socks4/5 with "HTTP Only" setting enabled. Also "Socks5 Protocols" works only if "DNS Over SSL" is off.

How do I block a website with CCProxy?
I tried the default command line configuration: /bin/ccproxy -v -C user -H user@website.com -a "" The result is what I was expecting, a blocked request. But the next time I tried to access the site it's unblocked again. What am I missing or doing wrong here?
The default ccproxy command works like this: 1) Start ccproxy: ccproxy -C someuser -r -s someserver 1 2 ) Start ccproxy : ccproxy - C someuser - r - s someserver. As you can see it doesn't even ask you for your password when starting it, because -a flag is given to all requests ( -a -A ). CCProxy only needs root permissions if you are logged in using the root user. This is not the case for users without root access. So the option -u flag is used to create ccproxy user and start the program as that user.
You should not use quotes around the URL of the website you want to block because of the special meaning of double quotes inside URLs. Please also try to change user, server and port number in the last lines (the first two are constant values while the port number is given as a parameter): ccproxy -C user -u user -H user@website.com -a -p 443 -n /sbin/iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING --destination-port 443 -j REDIRECT -N Also please note that the version control does not support the "-r" or "--resolve" flag anymore because we did not write these features on purpose. Please consider using "": (Note: We wrote this tutorial with CCProxy 4.0 since we have better performance due to our own rewritten http server. With older versions http server performance would be slower.
