You will be missing out on some of our features such as sharing and the ability to watch movies and TV shows. And we're certain that your family would appreciate it as well.

How does TunnelBear work? The easiest way to explain how TunnelBear works is in a way that is easy to understand. Our users can access websites normally that are blocked (firewall restrictions) when they connect to a specific VPN Tunnel. We also have an unlimited web streaming service, where people can share music on the fly for friends and families.

If you want to know more about how this all works, and why this is important, keep reading. What do I need to enable TunnelBear? We don't want to bore you with some boring technical explanations about the way tunneling works so we won't go into detail here. That being said, to connect to TunnelBear you will need to have a few apps that are already pre-installed on your computer. We recommend downloading these apps onto your laptop for better performance:

TunnelBear VPN client. TunnelBear Chrome App. TunnelBear OSX client. TunnelBear Web App. How do I enable TunnelBear? Launch the TunnelBear app. Log into your TunnelBear account from your email. Once you are logged in, click on the gear icon on the top left corner.

Why does TunnelBear take so long to connect?

On some computers, TunnelBear may take up to 30 minutes to connect, depending on your computer's network speed.

If this happens, please try connecting again and select one of the other speeds: What do I need to use TunnelBear? TunnelBear works on most browsers. Try using the latest versions, or any version that's not too old: Internet Explorer 11. Safari 10. Chrome 46. Firefox 45. Edge 12. Opera 31. Browsers can be a little slow sometimes. Your browser may even close automatically after a while. You're not alone, as many of our users have reported having the same problem with Opera. Let's fix it! First, let's find out if it's your browser or TunnelBear by checking your system requirements (as detailed in TunnelBear's FAQ). Do you need a specific operating system version? Do you need specific browsers? Your computer's specs. Are you using a wired or wireless network? This page will tell you the answers to all those questions, and more. If you still don't have enough memory for your computer, you can always try another computer. That way, you'll be able to test TunnelBear on a computer with more RAM.

Now, let's check your browser's version. On Firefox, click on Help > About Firefox. The same information appears. Now click on the about:support page in your browser's address bar, then find the line Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10104) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/46.2490.86 Safari/537. This is your browser's version number and it's under system requirements (the first requirement listed). You can check the version number on your browser's about:support page too. Look for the text under system requirements.

Now we need to look at the version number of your computer, which you'll see on the manufacturer's web site.

Why is TunnelBear disconnecting?

We recently launched a major upgrade to TunnelBear's website.

In the process, we experienced some hiccups that affected your ability to use the service. In light of this, we've decided to temporarily disable the service. We'll be restoring the service as soon as possible.

The new TunnelBear website is now live. As part of the deployment, we made a number of changes to our API, and when we migrated over to this new API the TunnelBear website didn't always handle these changes correctly.

What if I need to connect to a remote site today? We're still working to resolve this issue, but we're able to connect to remote sites for some people, and for others we're able to connect to sites where we know it's available. We'll let you know when we get it fixed.

Can you verify that the site is available? How can I contact you if my connection is broken? Contact us at support@tunnelbear.com.

I don't see any updates on my TunnelBear page. What's going on?

Why is my TunnelBear not connecting?

You have to click the button (blue circle with a line) next to your desired TunnelBear username and click "Get" or "Connect". It will then show you if it's successfully connected. I've just started using TunnelBear recently, so I don't know what kind of problems you may be having.

This is also what my email says: You cannot access TunnelBear's servers from the computer you're on. If you're connected to a computer on our servers, you can log into the account and choose which servers to use. Clicking the Get button on this page will redirect you to the right servers, so you can connect to them.

I'm on the Windows 10, not sure if that's what makes it different from the Android, MacOS, and IOS clients? EDIT: It's not an error. The servers are being accessed fine. I'm just unable to log in. Please help!
So I found the problem and solution. Apparently this is caused by Windows 10. It has something to do with the privacy setting that was active on my laptop. It was set to "Never Ask" so now it's set to "Never". Now I can sign in. Thank you all for your help!
